Playbook · Shopify Apple Pay not showing

Apple Pay never appears on cart or checkout.

Written for a Shopify owner whose Apple Pay button does not show on product, cart, or checkout — Shopify Payments not Active, Apple Pay domain / merchant validation failing on the primary hostname, Safari-only eligibility with no Wallet card, theme dynamic checkout / Apple Pay blocks removed, Markets country unsupported, CSS or app hiding the wallet row, Payment Customization hiding Apple Pay, or you chased Shop Pay wallet, Amazon Pay, PayPal Express, Venmo, Google Pay, or BNPL instead. DIY-first: prove Payments + domain + device → fix theme / hiding → retest on Safari. Distinct from Shop Pay wallet not showing (Shop Pay accelerated checkout — not Apple Pay), Amazon Pay not showing, PayPal Express not showing, and Venmo not showing. Soft-link payment customization not hiding when a Function hides wallets, and Shop Pay button missing when every accelerated wallet is gone. Legacy companion path: apple-pay-not-showing-shopify. No earnings claims, no invented case studies.

Apple Pay missing — not Shop Pay wallet, Amazon Pay, PayPal, or Venmo.

Several “wallet button missing” bugs look alike. They do not share a fix. This page is only when Apple Pay / Apple Pay on the Web should render and does not. Shop Pay accelerated checkout is shopify-shop-pay-wallet-not-showing. Amazon Pay is shopify-amazon-pay-not-showing. PayPal Express is shopify-paypal-express-not-showing. Venmo is shopify-venmo-not-showing.

Soft links when the bug is adjacent: Google Pay missing is a separate wallet (prefer the Google Pay playbook when that is the button). BNPL missing is shopify-bnpl-not-showing. Payment Customization hiding methods is shopify-payment-customization-not-hiding. This playbook stays on Apple Pay expected on cart/checkout → missing → merchant cannot offer Wallet checkout.

02

Prove Shopify Payments + domain + device vs theme vs Payment Customization.

Confirm Shopify Payments is Active and Apple Pay is enabled in Settings → Payments. Verify the primary custom domain (and www if used) has Apple Pay domain association / merchant validation — a wrong hostname or pending SSL breaks Apple Pay even when cards work. Test only on Safari (or an Apple Pay-capable iOS browser surface) with a card in Wallet; Chrome on Windows will not prove Apple Pay.

Check the theme: dynamic checkout buttons / Apple Pay blocks on product and cart. Check Markets: country and currency must support Apple Pay for that buyer. Soft-check Payment Customization Functions that hide or reorder wallets. Soft-check: if Shop Pay is the missing button, leave for shopify-shop-pay-wallet-not-showing. If Amazon Pay / PayPal / Venmo are missing, use those playbooks instead.

Soft-check when every accelerated wallet is gone: shopify-shop-pay-button-missing. When a Function hides methods: shopify-payment-customization-not-hiding.

Repair domain, theme, and hiding rules — then retest on Safari.

Re-verify Apple Pay on the live primary domain after DNS / SSL settles. Restore theme dynamic checkout / Apple Pay buttons on product and cart. Turn Apple Pay back on under Shopify Payments if it was toggled off. Adjust or disable Payment Customization that hides Apple Pay. Confirm Markets country supports the wallet.

If Shop Pay is still missing after Apple Pay returns, continue on shopify-shop-pay-wallet-not-showing. If Amazon Pay / PayPal Express / Venmo are the missing buttons, use shopify-amazon-pay-not-showing, shopify-paypal-express-not-showing, or shopify-venmo-not-showing.

Retest: Safari + Wallet card → Apple Pay visible on cart/checkout → sheet opens → payment completes. Soft notes: Shop Pay wallet belongs on shopify-shop-pay-wallet-not-showing. Payment customization belongs on shopify-payment-customization-not-hiding.

04

You tested Shop Pay wallet, Amazon Pay, PayPal, or Venmo instead.

Shop Pay wallet not showing is shopify-shop-pay-wallet-not-showing. Amazon Pay not showing is shopify-amazon-pay-not-showing. PayPal Express not showing is shopify-paypal-express-not-showing. Venmo not showing is shopify-venmo-not-showing. BNPL not showing is shopify-bnpl-not-showing. Payment customization is shopify-payment-customization-not-hiding.

The only honest test for this page: on Safari with a Wallet card, Apple Pay appears on cart or checkout (or you prove domain / Payments / theme / Function why it cannot). Anything else is a different product.

05

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.

Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: prove Shopify Payments + Apple Pay domain, test Safari + Wallet, restore theme buttons, separate Shop Pay / Amazon Pay / PayPal / Venmo, retest one checkout through to a visible Apple Pay sheet. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Related pages: Shop Pay wallet, Amazon Pay, PayPal Express.

Pay for help when the work is not the Apple Pay toggle itself — it is connecting the stack you already have so wallet / checkout / payment-method exceptions land in a channel you already check, and the live store is one workflow instead of a spreadsheet plus a Slack bot you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.

What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a theme rebuild retainer, not a conversion guarantee, not a brand or theme job.

Other shops’ public ranges, not testimonials: a checkout / ops install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as an earnings number or conversion-lift claim.

What it does not buy: more orders, recovered revenue, a forever Apple Pay guarantee, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.

Checkout is on Whop. Operator is Nico. United States offer. You can revoke collaborator access after handoff. We do not take owner passwords.
