01
Apple Pay missing — not Shop Pay missing, not card declined, not discount codes, not shipping rates.
Several products can look like “wallet checkout will not show.” They do not share a settings panel. This page is only when Apple Pay is missing on Shopify checkout or the product page. The broader Shop Pay / accelerated checkout row missing (Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay as a group) is Shop Pay / accelerated checkout missing. Cards that appear but decline at a high rate are Shopify Payments card declined. Promo codes that reject are discount code not applying. Blank or wrong rate lists at checkout are checkout shipping rates wrong. This page is only: Apple Pay button not showing.
Seven ordinary reasons Apple Pay vanishes: domain verification / association file pending or failed, Shopify Payments not eligible or Apple Pay toggled off, Safari / device / wallet requirements not met, Markets / country / currency blocking wallets, theme or checkout surface without dynamic checkout / Apple Pay, custom domain / checkout domain mismatch, or you are debugging Shop Pay missing / declines / discounts / rates instead of Apple Pay. Walk them in that order. You already pay for Shopify. You do not need another wallet SaaS seat to turn Apple Pay back on.
02
Prove Apple Pay is missing vs Shop Pay missing vs declined.
Open a simple one-variant product in Safari (macOS or iOS) with at least one card in Apple Wallet. Look at the product form and at Shopify checkout for the Apple Pay button specifically — not only “Shop Pay” or “Buy with.” Screenshot: Apple Pay present or absent, domain in the address bar, Market / currency shown, logged-out state. Compare Chrome on the same machine: Chrome often will not show Apple Pay even when Safari does.
Honest proof: if Apple Pay is missing in Safari while Shop Pay still shows, stay on this page (domain / Payments / Safari / Markets). If the entire accelerated checkout row is gone (Shop Pay and Apple Pay), start on Shop Pay / accelerated checkout missing. If Apple Pay shows and then the payment fails, that is Shopify Payments card declined. Do not mix those proofs.
03
Apple Pay domain verification / association file.
Apple Pay on the web requires each checkout / storefront domain to be verified with Apple (domain association). Shopify hosts this for many stores, but custom domains, new primary domains, checkout.shopify.com vs custom checkout domains, and multi-domain Markets setups can leave verification pending, failed, or verified on the wrong hostname. If the domain Apple sees is not the domain the buyer is on, Apple Pay will not render.
Fix: Settings → Payments → Shopify Payments / Apple Pay (or Domains) and confirm each live storefront and checkout domain is verified. After adding or changing a custom domain, re-run verification and wait for it to succeed before retesting Safari. Confirm the buyer URL matches the verified hostname (www vs apex, market subdomains, localized domains). A failed association file is an Apple Pay-specific bug — not the same as Shop Pay missing or card declined.
04
Shopify Payments eligibility and Apple Pay toggle.
Apple Pay on Shopify rides on Shopify Payments (or an eligible Payments / wallet setup for your store country). If Shopify Payments is not activated, is paused, is incomplete KYC, or Apple Pay is toggled off under Settings → Payments, the button will not render — even if domain verification looks fine and your theme “supports” wallets. Third-party gateways alone often do not surface Apple Pay the same way.
Fix: Settings → Payments. Confirm Shopify Payments is live (not test-only / not pending). Confirm Apple Pay is enabled. Complete any identity / bank prompts. Retest the same product in Safari. If Payments is fine and cards decline after Apple Pay appears, switch playbooks to Shopify Payments card declined. If Shop Pay and Google Pay are also gone, use Shop Pay / accelerated checkout missing.
05
Safari, iPhone / Mac, and wallet device requirements.
Apple Pay on the web only appears in Safari (and other Apple-supported contexts) on devices with Apple Wallet set up and at least one eligible card. Chrome, Firefox, Windows, and Android will not show Apple Pay even when your Shopify settings are perfect. Private Relay / aggressive content blockers, outdated Safari, or a Wallet with no usable card can also hide the button for one buyer while another sees it.
Fix: retest on a current Safari (macOS and iOS) with a card in Wallet, logged out of the store customer account, on the verified domain. Disable one extension class at a time. Confirm the buyer’s device region supports Apple Pay for that Market. Do not treat “missing in Chrome” as a Shopify Payments outage. Promo rejection at the same checkout is still discount code not applying.
06
Markets, country, and currency blocking Apple Pay.
Markets control which payment methods buyers see per country / currency. A Market launched with only COD, bank deposit, or a limited gateway will hide Apple Pay. Currency mismatches, domain / language configs, and “include / exclude” country lists also make Apple Pay appear for you (home Market) and vanish for international Safari visitors.
Fix: for each live Market, open Payments / checkout methods and confirm Shopify Payments + Apple Pay are on where Apple supports them. Test with Markets preview or a VPN for a country where Apple Pay is reported missing. COD-only Markets are not an Apple Pay domain bug. Shipping rates that fail after Apple Pay opens are checkout shipping rates wrong, not a missing-button bug.
07
Theme / checkout surfaces where Apple Pay should appear.
Online Store 2.0 themes expose dynamic checkout / accelerated checkout buttons on the product form; Shopify checkout shows Apple Pay in the payment step when eligible. If dynamic checkout is off, a custom buy button replaced the native block, or an app rebuilt checkout without wallets, Apple Pay never appears on the product page even when checkout itself is fine — or the reverse.
Fix: Theme editor → product template → enable dynamic checkout buttons. Check cart drawer / cart page the same way. Compare product-page Apple Pay vs checkout Apple Pay in Safari. Custom liquid that hard-codes checkout without dynamic buttons will keep failing until you restore the native block. If the whole wallet row is gone (Shop Pay included), also walk Shop Pay / accelerated checkout missing.
08
You tested Shop Pay missing, card declined, discount codes, or shipping rates instead.
Entire accelerated checkout row missing is Shop Pay / accelerated checkout missing. High decline rates after Apple Pay appears are Shopify Payments card declined. Promo codes that will not apply are discount code not applying. Blank or wrong checkout rates are checkout shipping rates wrong.
The only honest test for this page: Safari screenshots with Apple Pay absent or present on product and checkout, domain verification status, Payments + Apple Pay toggles, Markets methods, and device / Wallet eligibility. Anything else is a different product.

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.
Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: prove Apple Pay missing vs Shop Pay missing vs declined, confirm domain verification, confirm Shopify Payments + Apple Pay, retest Safari with Wallet, align Markets methods, and fix theme / checkout surfaces. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Pay for help when the work is not the Apple Pay toggle — it is connecting the stack you already have so lead capture is not dying in DMs, checkout-ready and payment exceptions land in a channel you already check, and the live store is one workflow instead of a spreadsheet plus a Slack bot you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.
What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a theme rebuild retainer, not an Apple Pay guarantee, not a brand or theme job.
Other shops’ public ranges, not testimonials: a checkout / ops install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as an earnings number or conversion-lift claim.
What it does not buy: more orders, recovered revenue, Apple Pay on every browser forever, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.
Checkout is on Whop. Operator is Nico. United States offer. You can revoke collaborator access after handoff. We do not take owner passwords.
