01

Google Pay missing — not Apple Pay missing, not Shop Pay missing, not card declined.

Several products can look like “wallet checkout will not show.” They do not share a settings panel. This page is only when Google Pay is missing on Shopify checkout or the product page. Apple Pay missing (domain verification / Safari) is Apple Pay button missing. The broader Shop Pay / accelerated checkout row missing (Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay as a group) is Shop Pay / accelerated checkout missing. Cards that appear but decline at a high rate are Shopify Payments card declined. This page is only: Google Pay button not showing.

Seven ordinary reasons Google Pay vanishes: Shopify Payments not eligible or Google Pay toggled off, Chrome / Android / Google Wallet requirements not met, Markets / country / currency blocking wallets, theme or checkout surface without dynamic checkout / Google Pay, saved Google payment methods empty or blocked, account / browser quirks (incognito, extensions), or you are debugging Apple Pay missing / Shop Pay missing / declines instead of Google Pay. Walk them in that order. You already pay for Shopify. You do not need another wallet SaaS seat to turn Google Pay back on.

02

Prove Google Pay is missing vs Apple Pay vs Shop Pay vs declined.

Open a simple one-variant product in Chrome (desktop or Android) signed into a Google account with at least one eligible card / payment method. Look at the product form and at Shopify checkout for the Google Pay button specifically — not only “Shop Pay” or “Buy with.” Screenshot: Google Pay present or absent, domain in the address bar, Market / currency shown, logged-out store customer state. Compare Safari on the same machine: Safari often will not show Google Pay even when Chrome does (and the reverse for Apple Pay).

Honest proof: if Google Pay is missing in Chrome while Shop Pay or Apple Pay still shows, stay on this page (Payments / browser / Markets). If the entire accelerated checkout row is gone (Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay), start on Shop Pay / accelerated checkout missing. If only Apple Pay is missing in Safari, use Apple Pay button missing. If Google Pay shows and then the payment fails, that is Shopify Payments card declined. Do not mix those proofs.

03

Shopify Payments eligibility and Google Pay toggle.

Google Pay on Shopify rides on Shopify Payments (or an eligible Payments / wallet setup for your store country). If Shopify Payments is not activated, is paused, is incomplete KYC, or Google Pay is toggled off under Settings → Payments, the button will not render — even if your theme “supports” wallets and Chrome looks fine. Third-party gateways alone often do not surface Google Pay the same way.

Fix: Settings → Payments. Confirm Shopify Payments is live (not test-only / not pending). Confirm Google Pay is enabled. Complete any identity / bank prompts. Retest the same product in Chrome. If Payments is fine and cards decline after Google Pay appears, switch playbooks to Shopify Payments card declined. If Shop Pay and Apple Pay are also gone, use Shop Pay / accelerated checkout missing.

04

Chrome / Android / Google Wallet browser requirements.

Google Pay on the web only appears in supported Chrome (and other Google-supported contexts) on devices with a Google account and at least one eligible payment method. Safari-only Macs, Firefox without Google Pay support, and locked-down corporate browsers will not show Google Pay even when your Shopify settings are perfect. Incognito without Google sign-in, aggressive content blockers, outdated Chrome, or a Google Pay profile with no usable card can also hide the button for one buyer while another sees it.

Fix: retest on current Chrome (desktop and Android) signed into Google with a usable payment method, logged out of the store customer account, on the live domain. Disable one extension class at a time. Confirm the buyer’s device / region supports Google Pay for that Market. Do not treat “missing in Safari” as a Shopify Payments outage — that is often expected, and Apple Pay absence there is Apple Pay button missing.

05

Markets, country, and currency blocking Google Pay.

Markets control which payment methods buyers see per country / currency. A Market launched with only COD, bank deposit, or a limited gateway will hide Google Pay. Currency mismatches, domain / language configs, and “include / exclude” country lists also make Google Pay appear for you (home Market) and vanish for international Chrome visitors.

Fix: for each live Market, open Payments / checkout methods and confirm Shopify Payments + Google Pay are on where Google supports them. Test with Markets preview or a VPN for a country where Google Pay is reported missing. COD-only Markets are not a Google Pay browser bug. Entire wallet row missing across Shop Pay / Apple Pay / Google Pay is still Shop Pay / accelerated checkout missing.

06

Theme / checkout surfaces where Google Pay should appear.

Online Store 2.0 themes expose dynamic checkout / accelerated checkout buttons on the product form; Shopify checkout shows Google Pay in the payment step when eligible. If dynamic checkout is off, a custom buy button replaced the native block, or an app rebuilt checkout without wallets, Google Pay never appears on the product page even when checkout itself is fine — or the reverse.

Fix: Theme editor → product template → enable dynamic checkout buttons. Check cart drawer / cart page the same way. Compare product-page Google Pay vs checkout Google Pay in Chrome. Custom liquid that hard-codes checkout without dynamic buttons will keep failing until you restore the native block. If the whole wallet row is gone (Shop Pay included), also walk Shop Pay / accelerated checkout missing.

07

Wallet settings, saved cards, and account quirks.

Google Pay will not offer itself when the buyer’s Google account has no eligible card, the card issuer / region blocks the purchase, payment methods are turned off in Google Pay settings, or Chrome profile sync is broken. Work profiles, supervised accounts, and enterprise-managed Chrome can also suppress the button for one device while a personal Chrome on the same store shows it.

Fix: open pay.google.com (or Android Wallet) and confirm an active card. Retest in a clean Chrome profile signed into that Google account. Ask the reporter whether Apple Pay shows in Safari on the same order — if Apple Pay works and Google Pay does not, stay on this page; if neither wallet shows, prefer Shop Pay / accelerated checkout missing. Declines after the Google Pay sheet opens are Shopify Payments card declined.

08

You tested Apple Pay missing, Shop Pay missing, or card declined instead.

Apple Pay missing in Safari (domain verification / Wallet) is Apple Pay button missing. Entire accelerated checkout row missing is Shop Pay / accelerated checkout missing. High decline rates after Google Pay appears are Shopify Payments card declined.

The only honest test for this page: Chrome screenshots with Google Pay absent or present on product and checkout, Payments + Google Pay toggles, Markets methods, browser / Google Wallet eligibility, and theme dynamic checkout. Anything else is a different product.

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.

Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: prove Google Pay missing vs Apple Pay missing vs Shop Pay missing vs declined, confirm Shopify Payments + Google Pay, retest Chrome with Google Wallet, align Markets methods, fix theme / checkout surfaces, and clear wallet / account quirks. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Pay for help when the work is not the Google Pay toggle — it is connecting the stack you already have so lead capture is not dying in DMs, checkout-ready and payment exceptions land in a channel you already check, and the live store is one workflow instead of a spreadsheet plus a Slack bot you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.

What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a theme rebuild retainer, not a Google Pay guarantee, not a brand or theme job.

Other shops’ public ranges, not testimonials: a checkout / ops install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as an earnings number or conversion-lift claim.

What it does not buy: more orders, recovered revenue, Google Pay on every browser forever, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.

Checkout is on Whop. Operator is Nico. United States offer. You can revoke collaborator access after handoff. We do not take owner passwords.
