01

Store credit / account credit — not gift card balance, not discount codes, not Functions discount, not Shop Pay.

Several checkout products can look like “my discount is missing.” They do not share a settings panel. This page is only when store credit or account credit does not reduce the order total at checkout (new customer accounts, Markets, apps). Gift card balance check page or customer gift card lookup broken is shopify-gift-card-balance-check-broken. Typed discount codes not applying is discount-code-not-applying. Shopify Functions / Checkout UI automatic discount not applying is shopify-functions-discount-not-applying. Shop Pay / accelerated checkout button missing is shop-pay-not-showing. This page is only: store credit / account credit not applying at checkout.

Six ordinary reasons store credit fails: the buyer is on guest checkout (wallet never loads), they are logged into a different customer / email than the one that holds the credit, Markets put the cart in a currency the credit was not issued in, a third-party store-credit or loyalty app is paused or ineligible for that checkout, Admin credit was issued as a gift card code instead of account credit (or the reverse), or support tested a discount code / Functions automatic / Shop Pay path and called it “store credit.” Walk them in that order. You already pay for Shopify.

02

Prove logged-in wallet vs Markets currency vs third-party store-credit app.

On the live storefront (not theme editor preview), start checkout as the customer who should have credit. Capture: guest vs logged into new customer accounts, whether a Store credit / Account credit line or toggle appears in the payment / summary column, the Markets country / currency of the cart, and the Admin customer record showing remaining credit. Screenshot the checkout before you change settings.

Honest proof: if the only problem is that customers cannot look up a gift card balance on a page or in accounts, leave for shopify-gift-card-balance-check-broken. If a typed discount code fails, leave for discount-code-not-applying. If an automatic Functions discount never appears, leave for shopify-functions-discount-not-applying. If Shop Pay is missing as a button, leave for shop-pay-not-showing. Do not mix those proofs with missing account credit on a logged-in checkout.

03

New customer accounts: guest checkout or wrong login hides store credit.

Native store credit / account credit is tied to a customer identity. Guest checkout never sees that wallet. New customer accounts use a hosted login — if the theme still pushes buyers through classic /account/login half-paths, or the buyer enters a different email than the credited record, checkout looks “broken” while Admin still shows a balance. Duplicate customer records (same person, two emails) are a common silent fail after returns / goodwill credits.

Fix path: Settings → Customer accounts — know you are on new accounts if that is your live setup. Have the buyer complete a clean login with the email that owns the credit. Confirm Admin → Customers shows the credit on that record. Retest checkout while logged in. If login itself loops or fails, stop and use new-customer-accounts-login-broken first — a missing credit line after a successful login is this page; a redirect loop before login is that page.

04

Markets / currency: credit issued in one currency, cart in another.

Shopify Markets can present a different currency than the shop primary. Store credit issued in USD may not apply (or may apply incorrectly) on a EUR / CAD / GBP market cart depending on how credit was created and whether a third-party app converts. Buyers who switch markets mid-session, or who land on a localized domain while their account credit lives on the primary market, report “credit disappeared at checkout.”

Fix path: note the Markets country and currency on the failing checkout. Open the customer credit in Admin and record its currency. Retest on the market / currency that matches the credit, or re-issue / convert credit per your policy. If the symptom is wrong displayed prices (not missing credit), that is shopify-markets-currency-wrong— a different product.

05

Third-party store-credit / loyalty apps and checkout eligibility.

Many stores run store credit through a loyalty / store-credit SaaS — not native Shopify account credit. Those balances apply only when the app is live, the app embed or checkout extension is on the live theme / Checkout Extensibility surface, and the cart passes the app’s eligibility (minimum subtotal, product exclusions, shipping-only carts, B2B vs DTC). A paused subscription, draft-theme-only embed, or combination rule that blocks credit + discount will silently skip the line.

Fix path: confirm which system issued the credit (native Admin vs app). Theme settings → App embeds / checkout extensions — on for the live theme. Check app billing and eligibility rules. Test with a balance from that system while logged in. App embed not loading is related but different — app-embed-not-loading. Zero remaining balance correctly applies $0 — that is not a broken checkout.

06

You tested gift card balance, discount codes, Functions discount, or Shop Pay instead.

Gift card balance check / customer lookup broken is shopify-gift-card-balance-check-broken. Typed discount code not applying is discount-code-not-applying. Functions / Checkout UI automatic discount not applying is shopify-functions-discount-not-applying. Shop Pay not showing is shop-pay-not-showing.

The only honest test for this page: a logged-in customer with known-good store / account credit cannot apply that credit toward the order total at checkout — fixable with correct new customer accounts login, credit on the right customer record, Markets currency alignment, and live store-credit app eligibility — not gift card balance page silence alone, not a typed code failure alone, not a Functions automatic silence alone, not a missing Shop Pay button alone. Capture login state + Markets currency + Admin credit + checkout summary, fix the path. Anything else is a different product.

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.

Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: prove logged-in wallet vs Markets vs third-party app, force the correct new customer accounts login, align currency, re-enable the app, and stop confusing gift card balance / discount codes / Functions / Shop Pay with store credit. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Pay for help when the work is not the store-credit row — it is connecting the stack you already have so lead capture is not dying in DMs, storefront and checkout-ready exceptions land in a channel you already check, and the live store is one workflow instead of a spreadsheet plus a Slack bot you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.

What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a store-credit app rebuild, not an earnings number.

Other shops' public ranges, not testimonials: a checkout / ops install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as an earnings number or store-credit guarantee.

What it does not buy: more orders, recovered store-credit liability, a forever checkout-credit uptime guarantee, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.

Checkout is on Whop. Operator is Nico. United States offer. You can revoke collaborator access after handoff. We do not take owner passwords.
