01

Markets currency / price — not shipping rates, wallets, or multi-location.

Several products can look like “international checkout is wrong.” They do not share a settings panel. This page is only when Shopify Markets shows the wrong currency or price for a country. Blank or wrong shipping methods at checkout are checkout shipping rates wrong. Missing Shop Pay / Apple Pay / Google Pay buttons are wallet playbooks, not FX. Stock numbers wrong across warehouse and POS are multi-location inventory wrong. This page is only: Markets currency / price for country.

Seven ordinary reasons Markets prices look wrong: buyer country not in the Market you think is live, automatic exchange rate lag or unexpected FX vs shop currency, price round-up rules changing endings, duties / import taxes inflating landed cost, catalog / fixed Market prices overriding base, theme currency switcher out of sync with checkout, or you are debugging shipping rates / wallets / multi-location instead. Walk them in that order. You already pay for Shopify. You do not need another FX SaaS seat to straighten Markets pricing.

02

Prove Market, buyer country, and displayed currency.

Open Settings → Markets. For the reported country, note which Market includes it, whether that Market is live, primary currency, and whether prices are automatic conversion or fixed / catalog. On the storefront, capture the currency in the switcher (if any), product price, cart subtotal, and checkout total for a buyer address in that country. Screenshot Markets preview or use a VPN / Markets preview consistently — do not mix admin home- Market prices with a foreign buyer session.

Honest proof: if currency code or unit price is wrong while shipping methods still list normally, stay on this page. If rates are blank or absurd for the destination but currency looks fine, use checkout shipping rates wrong. If wallet buttons vanish for that Market, use Shop Pay / accelerated checkout missing (or Apple Pay / Google Pay-only pages). Do not mix those proofs.

03

Automatic exchange rates vs fixed Market prices.

Markets can convert from shop currency with Shopify’s exchange rates, or you can set fixed prices per Market / catalog. Automatic FX moves when Shopify’s rate table updates — a price that “was right yesterday” can drift without a theme bug. Fixed prices that were never updated after a cost or promo change look “wrong” against today’s FX calculator. Mixing both (some products automatic, some fixed) confuses merchants comparing to Google FX.

Fix: in the Market, confirm pricing strategy (auto convert vs fixed). Compare the displayed price to Shopify’s rate for that day, not a third-party mid-market quote. If you want stable endings in a Market, use fixed / catalog prices or round-up — do not expect automatic FX to match bank mid-market forever. Shipping method math still lives on checkout shipping rates wrong.

04

Price round-up and psychological pricing rules.

Markets price rounding (for example round to .99 / .95 / nearest whole unit) intentionally changes converted prices so they do not look like raw FX. Merchants comparing a spreadsheet of “exact” conversion will call rounded prices wrong even when Markets is doing what you configured. Rounding can also push a free-shipping or discount threshold differently per Market.

Fix: open Markets → pricing / round-up settings for that Market. Decide whether you want psychological endings or exact FX. Retest the same SKU after changing round-up. Document the rule for support so “why is EU €X not mid-market?” has one answer. Do not treat round-up as a broken payment wallet — Shop Pay missing and Apple / Google Pay pages are unrelated.

05

Duties, import taxes, and landed-cost totals.

Duties and import taxes can appear in Markets / checkout as part of landed cost. Buyers (and merchants) often read the higher total as “price wrong” when the product line is correct and duties / taxes are the delta. Missing HS codes, wrong product origin, or duties toggled on for one Market only create country-specific surprises that look like FX bugs.

Fix: for the Market, confirm whether duties / import taxes are calculated at checkout. Check product customs / HS data if required. Compare product price line vs duties / tax lines in checkout screenshots. Shipping carrier rate wrongness is still checkout shipping rates wrong— do not rewrite zones to “fix” a duties line.

06

Catalog / Markets pricing and product inclusions.

Catalogs and Market-specific product inclusions control which SKUs and which prices a country sees. A product left on shop currency, excluded from a Market, or priced only in a B2B / wholesale catalog will look “wrong” or unavailable for that country while your home Market looks fine. Duplicate catalogs and unfinished Markets publishes leave stale prices live.

Fix: confirm the product is included in the Market’s catalog, publish status is live, and Market-specific price (if any) matches intent. Compare admin catalog price to storefront for that country. Inventory available in the wrong location is multi-location inventory wrong, not Markets FX.

07

Currency switcher, theme, and checkout surfaces.

Theme currency switchers, geolocation apps, and hard-coded money formats can show one currency on the product card and another at checkout. App embeds that format money without Markets context, cached CDN prices, and “presentment currency” mismatches all produce merchant tickets that say Markets is broken when checkout was already correct.

Fix: disable one currency app / switcher at a time. Compare product page, cart, and checkout currency codes for the same session. Prefer Shopify’s Markets presentment over a third-party converter on top. Wallet buttons missing in that Market are Shop Pay / accelerated checkout missing, Apple Pay button missing, or Google Pay button missing— not this page.

08

You tested shipping rates, wallets, or multi-location instead.

Blank or wrong shipping methods are checkout shipping rates wrong. Missing Shop Pay / accelerated checkout is Shop Pay / accelerated checkout missing. Apple Pay-only missing is Apple Pay button missing. Google Pay-only missing is Google Pay button missing. Stock wrong across locations is multi-location inventory wrong.

The only honest test for this page: Markets + country screenshots with currency code and unit price, exchange vs fixed pricing, round-up, duties lines, catalog inclusions, and theme / switcher presentment. Anything else is a different product.

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.

Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: prove Markets currency / price vs shipping rates vs wallets vs multi-location, confirm Market membership and presentment currency, align automatic FX vs fixed prices, set round-up deliberately, separate duties from unit price, fix catalog inclusions, and clear theme / switcher mismatches. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Pay for help when the work is not the Markets FX toggle — it is connecting the stack you already have so lead capture is not dying in DMs, checkout-ready and payment exceptions land in a channel you already check, and the live store is one workflow instead of a spreadsheet plus a Slack bot you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.

What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a theme rebuild retainer, not a Markets FX guarantee, not a brand or theme job.

Other shops’ public ranges, not testimonials: a checkout / ops install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as an earnings number or conversion-lift claim.

What it does not buy: more orders, recovered revenue, perfect FX forever, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.
