Playbook · New customer accounts login broken
Shopify new customer accounts login broken — redirect loop / customer account UI extension / identity provider.
Written for a Shopify DTC owner whose new customer accounts login is broken, stuck in a redirect loop, or blocked by a customer account UI extension / identity provider mismatch — usually classic vs new accounts still mixed on theme links, Shop / identity provider disabled or misconfigured, a broken customer account UI extension on the accounts surface, or cookies / third-party redirects looping between /account/login and the hosted identity URL. DIY-first: prove new accounts are on, fix the live login URL and extensions, test in incognito. Distinct from customer login link / magic link email not sending, password reset email not sending, customer account invite not sending, and Checkout Extensibility upgrade / thank-you extensions. No earnings claims, no invented case studies.

New customer accounts login broken — not login-link email, password reset, invite, Checkout Extensibility.
Several products can look like “customers cannot get into their account.” They do not share a settings panel. This page is only when new customer accounts login itself fails, loops, or a customer account UI extension / identity provider breaks the sign-in surface. A working login path where only the magic-link / one-time sign-in email never arrives is customer-login-link-email-not-sending. Classic password-reset mail is customer-password-reset-email-not-sending. Account invite mail is customer-account-invite-not-sending. Checkout Extensibility / thank-you extensions after checkout.liquid retirement is checkout-extensibility-upgrade-broken. This page is only: Shopify new customer accounts / customer account UI extension login broken or redirect loop (classic vs new accounts, identity provider).
Six ordinary reasons login stays broken: store still on Classic while theme / apps expect New (or the reverse), theme “Account” links still hitting classic /account/login while New uses a hosted identity URL, Shop / identity provider disabled or mismatched, a customer account UI extension throwing on the accounts surface, cookie / third-party redirect loops between storefront and accounts.shopify.com (or Shop), or you are debugging login-link email / password reset / invite / Checkout Extensibility instead. Walk them in that order. You already pay for Shopify customer accounts. You do not need another accounts SaaS to turn New accounts on and fix the live login URL.
02
Prove classic vs new customer accounts and the live login URL.
Open Settings → Customer accounts (or Checkout and accounts → Customer accounts). Confirm the store is on New customer accounts, not Classic. Note whether Shop login / identity provider options are enabled. From an incognito window, click the storefront Account / Sign in control and capture the exact URL you land on — hosted identity / Shop vs a classic theme /account/login page.
Honest proof: screenshot the Customer accounts setting (New vs Classic), the live sign-in URL bar, and the theme header / customer-account link destination. If the only symptom is “I never got the email with the login link” while the login page itself loads, switch to customer login link email not sending instead of rewriting identity settings.
03
Fix redirect loop, identity provider, and customer account UI extensions.
If the browser loops between the storefront and the hosted accounts / Shop URL: clear conflicting classic account links in the theme, remove apps that force /account/login on New accounts, and re-test with third-party cookies allowed once to prove identity redirects. Re-enable or reconnect Shop / identity provider if Settings shows it off. Open the customer accounts editor / customer account UI extensions and disable or republish any extension that errors on the login or profile surface.
Honest proof: before/after of the sign-in flow without ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS, plus a screenshot of customer account UI extensions enabled on the live accounts surface. A www / non-www storefront redirect loop is a different bug — that stays on www-redirect-loop-shopify. Checkout Extensibility thank-you extensions stay on checkout-extensibility-upgrade-broken.
04
Prove login works after a real sign-in test.
In incognito, use a real customer email on New accounts: complete Shop / identity / one-time code sign-in, land on the account home / orders surface, then sign out and sign in again. Confirm no redirect loop, no blank accounts UI extension, and that the theme Account link still points at the New accounts URL — not a leftover classic login form.
Honest proof: screenshots of Settings → New customer accounts, the successful sign-in, and the account home URL. Password-reset email remains customer-password-reset-email-not-sending. Invite email remains customer-account-invite-not-sending.
05
You tested login-link email, password reset, invite, or Checkout Extensibility instead.
Login link / magic link / one-time sign-in email not sending is customer-login-link-email-not-sending. Password reset email is customer-password-reset-email-not-sending. Customer account invite is customer-account-invite-not-sending. Checkout Extensibility upgrade / thank-you extensions is checkout-extensibility-upgrade-broken. None of those replace proving New customer accounts, fixing the redirect loop / identity provider, and cleaning customer account UI extensions on the login surface.
Finish the New accounts + live login + extension proofs first. Only then open the related playbook that matches the remaining symptom.

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.
Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: prove New customer accounts (not Classic), fix theme / Account links and identity provider, clear redirect loops and broken customer account UI extensions, complete a real sign-in test, and stop confusing login-link email / password reset / invite / Checkout Extensibility with this login path. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Pay for help when the work is not the accounts checklist — it is connecting the stack you already have so lead capture is not dying in DMs, checkout and ops exceptions land in a channel you already check, and the live store is one workflow instead of a spreadsheet plus a Slack bot you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.
What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a customer-accounts agency retainer, not a conversion guarantee, not a brand or theme job.
Other shops’ public ranges, not testimonials: a checkout / ops install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as an earnings number or conversion-lift claim.
What it does not buy: more orders, recovered revenue, a forever customer-accounts SLA, a custom identity rebuild retainer, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.
Checkout is on Whop. Operator is Nico. United States offer. You can revoke collaborator access after handoff. We do not take owner passwords.
