Playbook · Combined Listings parent-child broken on storefront
Shopify Combined Listings parent-child products broken on the storefront.
Written for a Shopify Plus DTC owner whose Combined Listings parent will not render children, option switchers are blank, child PDPs 404 or redirect wrong, or Markets hide options that still look Active in admin — usually Plus / Combined Listings app ownership, parent or child unpublished to Online Store or a Market, catalog exclusions, unsupported theme Combined Listing blocks, or confusing this with Bundles / variant picker / metafields / Markets currency. DIY-first: prove Plus + app ownership, prove parent/child publish, prove Markets catalog + theme support, prove a real option switch and add-to-cart. Distinct from Bundles not showing, variant picker not updating, product metafields not showing, and Markets currency / price wrong. No earnings claims, no invented case studies.

Combined Listings parent-child broken — not Bundles, variant picker, metafields, Markets currency.
Several products can look like “the PDP options are wrong.” They do not share a settings panel. This page is only when a Shopify Combined Listings parent-child product set is broken on the Online Store storefront — Plus, Markets, and theme support included. A Shopify Bundles app kit missing or lying about stock is shopify-bundles-not-showing. Price / image / ATC stuck on a normal multi-variant product is variant-picker-not-updating. Custom fields / dynamic sources blank is product-metafields-not-showing. Wrong price / currency for a country is shopify-markets-currency-wrong. This page is only: Combined Listings / parent-child products broken on storefront.
Six ordinary reasons the combined listing stays dead: the store is not on Plus (or Combined Listings was never installed / lost ownership after a reinstall), the parent or a child is Draft / Archived or unpublished to Online Store, a Market catalog excludes the child while the parent still looks Active, the live theme lacks Combined Listing option UI / app blocks Shopify documents for OS 2.0, children point at the wrong option values so the switcher renders empty, or you are debugging Bundles / variant picker / metafields / Markets currency instead. Walk them in that order. You already pay for Shopify Plus and Combined Listings. You do not need another option-builder SaaS to republish the parent and children.
02
Prove Plus, Combined Listings app ownership, and parent/child publish.
Confirm the shop is on Shopify Plus and the Combined Listings app is installed. Open the Combined Listings app and confirm this parent still appears as a managed combined listing with the expected children and option values — not a leftover plain product after an uninstall. In Products, open the parent and each child: Status Active, Sales channels / Markets include Online Store and the Market you are testing.
Honest proof: screenshot Plus plan / Combined Listings ownership, parent Active + Online Store publish, and each child Active + Online Store / Market publish. If a child URL 404s because it is unpublished, fix publish before you touch theme Liquid. A B2B catalog hiding wholesale SKUs is a different product — leave b2b-catalog-not-showing alone unless this is a Plus company catalog issue.
03
Prove Markets catalog inclusion and theme Combined Listing support.
In Markets / catalogs, confirm each child product is included for the country / Market you browse from — a parent can look fine while a child is excluded, which empties the option switcher. On the live theme, open the product template used by the Combined Listings parent. Confirm the theme supports Combined Listings (OS 2.0 app blocks / option UI Shopify documents) and that no third-party variant / swatch app is fighting the combined option form.
Honest proof: Market catalog include for parent + children, theme editor showing Combined Listing support on the live product template, private-window PDP with option switch working, and one successful cart line for a selected child. Currency / price wrong for a country alone is shopify-markets-currency-wrong. App embeds that never load at all belong on app-embed-not-loading. Theme publish / save failures stay on theme-editor-publish-failing.
04
You tested Bundles, variant picker, metafields, or Markets currency instead.
Shopify Bundles app kit missing / wrong inventory is shopify-bundles-not-showing. Stuck swatches / price / media on a normal product is variant-picker-not-updating. Blank custom fields / dynamic sources is product-metafields-not-showing. Wrong country price / currency is shopify-markets-currency-wrong. None of those replace proving Plus + Combined Listings ownership, parent/child Active + Online Store / Market publish, Markets catalog inclusion, and theme Combined Listing support on the live product template.

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.
Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: prove Plus + Combined Listings still owns the parent, prove parent and children Active + Online Store / Market publish, prove Markets catalog inclusion, restore theme Combined Listing support on the live product template, prove option switch + add-to-cart, and stop confusing Bundles / variant picker / metafields / Markets currency with this parent-child path. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Pay for help when the work is not the Combined Listings checklist — it is connecting the stack you already have so lead capture is not dying in a tab, checkout and ops exceptions land in a channel you already check, and the live store is one workflow instead of a spreadsheet plus a Slack bot you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.
What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a Combined Listings agency retainer, not a conversion guarantee, not a brand or theme job.
Other shops’ public ranges, not testimonials: a checkout / ops install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as an earnings number or conversion-lift claim.
What it does not buy: more orders, recovered revenue, a forever Combined Listings SLA, a custom option-builder rebuild retainer, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.
