Playbook · Shopify size chart / fit guide not showing on PDP
Shopify size chart not showing on the product page.
Written for a Shopify DTC owner whose Size chart / Fit guide / Sizing guide never appears on the product page — product metafields empty or unconnected, product template missing the size-chart theme block or app block, size-chart app embed unpublished, popup / modal trigger never mounted so buyers have nothing to open. DIY-first: prove metafields vs theme blocks vs apps vs popup trigger; repair the live PDP; retest on the live storefront. Distinct from wishlist / save for later button missing, variant picker / swatches not updating, product tabs (Description / Shipping / Reviews accordion that is not a size chart), and line item properties / custom product options missing. If a Size chart link is visible but the popup never opens, that is size-chart-popup-not-opening. No earnings claims, no invented case studies.

Size chart / fit guide missing on PDP — not wishlist, not variant picker, not product tabs, not line-item properties.
Several PDP controls can look like “something about size or options is missing.” They do not share a settings panel. This page is only when a Size chart / Fit guide / Sizing guide link, table, or icon never appears on the product page (metafields, theme blocks, apps, popup trigger). Wishlist / save for later heart missing is shopify-wishlist-button-missing. Variant picker / swatches not updating price or image is variant-picker-not-updating. Product tabs (Description / Shipping / Reviews / Materials accordion that is not a size chart) are a different product — do not chase tab settings when the size chart never mounts. Custom line-item properties / product options missing on cart or order is shopify-line-item-properties-missing. A visible Size chart link whose popup / modal never opens is size-chart-popup-not-opening. This page is only: size chart / fit guide not showing on PDP.
Six ordinary reasons the chart never mounts: size-chart metafields are empty or the wrong type / namespace, dynamic sources on the product template never connect the metafield, the size-chart theme block or app block was removed after a theme edit, the size-chart App embed is off on Current (or only on a draft), the design expects a “Size chart” link that was never added so the popup has nothing to open from, or support tested wishlist / variant picker / product tabs / line-item properties and called it “size chart.” Walk them in that order. You already pay for Shopify.
02
Prove metafields vs theme blocks vs apps vs popup trigger on the live PDP.
On the live storefront (not theme editor preview), open a product that should show a size chart on the failing market / device. Capture: whether any Size chart / Fit guide / Sizing guide control or table exists in the DOM (View Source / Elements), Admin → product metafields for size chart / fit guide / page / file / rich text values, Online Store → Themes → Customize → product template for size-chart theme blocks or app blocks, Theme settings → App embeds for the size-chart app on the live theme, and whether a popup trigger is present with empty content vs the trigger itself missing. Screenshot before you change settings.
Honest proof: if a wishlist / save for later heart is what is missing, leave for shopify-wishlist-button-missing. If variant swatches fail to update price / image / ATC, leave for variant-picker-not-updating. If Description / Shipping / Reviews tabs are blank but a size chart is not the missing control, stay off this playbook. If custom engraving / gift note / option properties never reach the order, leave for shopify-line-item-properties-missing. If Size chart is visible but the popup never opens, leave for size-chart-popup-not-opening. Do not mix those proofs with a missing size-chart mount.
03
Size-chart metafields empty, wrong type, or not connected as dynamic sources.
Many OS 2.0 themes and size-chart apps read a product (or variant / shop) metafield — page reference, file, rich text, or JSON — and print nothing when the definition is missing, the value is blank on that SKU, the namespace.key does not match the theme dynamic source, or the field was filled only on a draft product / draft theme. The Size chart block is present in the editor but the live PDP stays blank because there is no content to render.
Fix path: Settings → Custom data → Products (and Variants / Shop if your theme uses those). Confirm the size-chart / fit-guide definition exists with the type your theme or app expects. Open the failing product and fill the metafield (page with the chart, uploaded image/PDF, or rich text table). In Customize on the live theme, connect the block’s dynamic source to that metafield. Save. Retest the live PDP URL. Blank product metafields in general are product-metafields-not-showing — chase that when many metafields fail to print, not when only the size chart is empty.
04
Product template missing the size-chart theme block or app block.
Online Store 2.0 themes expose a Size chart / Fit guide block (or an app block from a size-chart app) on the product information / product form section. If that block was removed in a theme update, never added to the live product template, only present on a draft template or alternate JSON template, or CSS-hidden under sticky ATC / chat / cookie layers, buyers never see Size chart — even when metafields are filled.
Fix path: Customize the live theme. Open the product template used by the failing SKU. Re-add the Size chart / Fit guide theme block or size-chart app block near the variant picker / ATC where the design expects it. Connect dynamic sources if required. Publish. Retest live PDP. Theme editor publish / save failures are theme-editor-publish-failing. A dead sticky ATC / mobile buy bar that covers the Size chart control is sticky-add-to-cart-not-working — fix that only when the size-chart block is present but covered.
05
Size-chart app embed / block unpublished, or popup trigger never mounted.
Size-chart / fit-guide apps often need an App embed plus a theme app block before any Size chart link mounts. The app can look “installed” in Admin with charts uploaded while the embed is toggled off on Current, enabled only on a draft, blocked by a consent / script manager, or the product template never received the app block. Other designs use a native “Size chart” text link that opens a modal — if that link was never added to the template, there is nothing for shoppers to click and nothing for popup JS to bind to.
Fix path: Online Store → Themes → Customize on the live theme → Theme settings → App embeds. Enable the size-chart / fit-guide embed. Add the app’s Size chart block to the product template. If your theme uses a native popup, add the Size chart / Fit guide link or block that mounts the trigger, and confirm the linked page / metafield / app chart has content. Save. Retest the live PDP. If App embeds fail across many apps (reviews, pixels, consent), that is app-embed-not-loading — chase that only when size chart is one of several missing embeds. If the Size chart link is visible but the modal never opens, switch to size-chart-popup-not-opening.
06
You tested wishlist, variant picker, product tabs, or line-item properties instead.
Wishlist / save for later button missing is shopify-wishlist-button-missing. Variant picker / swatches not updating is variant-picker-not-updating. Product tabs (Description / Shipping / Reviews accordion) are not a size chart — fix tab content only when tabs are the missing UI. Line item properties / custom product options missing is shopify-line-item-properties-missing. Size chart link visible but popup dead is size-chart-popup-not-opening.
The only honest test for this page: size chart / fit guide is not showing on PDP — fixable with filled metafields, a live size-chart theme / app block, an enabled size-chart App embed, and a mounted popup trigger when the design uses one — not wishlist alone, not variant picker alone, not product tabs alone, not line-item properties alone, not a dead popup click alone. Capture metafields + blocks + embeds + trigger, fix the path. Anything else is a different product.

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.
Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: prove metafields vs theme blocks vs apps vs popup trigger, fill and connect size-chart metafields, add the size-chart block to the live product template, enable the size-chart App embed, mount a Size chart trigger when the design uses a popup, and stop confusing wishlist / variant picker / product tabs / line-item properties with a missing size chart. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Pay for help when the work is not the size-chart row — it is connecting the stack you already have so lead capture is not dying in DMs, storefront and checkout-ready exceptions land in a channel you already check, and the live store is one workflow instead of a spreadsheet plus a Slack bot you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.
What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a size-chart-app rebuild, not an earnings number.
Other shops' public ranges, not testimonials: a checkout / ops install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as an earnings number or size-chart-uptime guarantee.
What it does not buy: more orders, recovered size-chart clicks, a forever fit-guide-uptime guarantee, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.
Checkout is on Whop. Operator is Nico. United States offer. You can revoke collaborator access after handoff. We do not take owner passwords.
