Playbook · Shopify wishlist not syncing
Wishlist / saved items not syncing across devices or customer accounts.
Written for a Shopify DTC owner whose wishlist app or saved items list does not sync across devices or customer accounts — guest list stuck in browser localStorage, account wishlist never bound to the customer ID, classic vs new customer accounts mismatch, second wishlist app fighting the same list, or you chased customer accounts login broken, customer account UI extension missing, Multipass login failing, product recommendations blank, or back-in-stock not notifying instead. DIY-first: prove guest vs account → binding / merge → multi-device retest. Distinct from customer accounts login broken, customer account UI extension missing, Multipass login failing, product recommendations blank, and back-in-stock not notifying. Soft-link wishlist button missing when the heart never mounts, and wishlist button not working when the heart is visible but dead. No earnings claims, no invented case studies.

01
Wishlist / saved items not syncing — not login, UI extension, Multipass, recommendations, or back-in-stock.
Several “account / list / notify” products can look like “my wishlist disappeared on my phone.” They do not share a fix. This page is only when the wishlist / saved items list works on one device or guest session but does not sync to another device or to the logged-in customer account. Customer accounts login broken or redirect loop is shopify-customer-accounts-login-broken. Customer account UI extension missing blocks is shopify-customer-account-ui-extension-missing. Multipass SSO login failing is shopify-multipass-login-failing. Product recommendations / related products blank is shopify-product-recommendations-blank. Back-in-stock / sold-out notify emails not notifying is shopify-back-in-stock-not-notifying.
Soft links when the bug is adjacent: heart never mounts on PDP or collection is shopify-wishlist-button-missing. Visible heart that does nothing on click is wishlist-button-not-working. This playbook stays on wishlist expected to sync across devices or accounts → list empty / stale on device B or after login → buyer only sees a per-browser guest list.
02
Prove guest localStorage vs account wishlist, app binding, and multi-device sync.
Open the wishlist app admin and note whether guest wishlists are browser-only (localStorage / cookies) and whether logged-in customers get a server-side list tied to the Shopify customer ID. Note Settings → Customer accounts: classic vs new. Confirm the wishlist App embed is on the Current theme and that the wishlist page / drawer route loads for guests and for logged-in customers.
Reproduce multi-device: Device A — log in → add 2–3 products → screenshot the list. Device B (or a private window) — log in as the same customer → open wishlist. If the list is empty on B while A still shows items, you have a sync / account-binding bug, not a missing button. Also test guest → login merge: save as guest, then log in — does the guest list merge into the account list?
Soft-check: if the customer cannot log in at all, leave this page and use shopify-customer-accounts-login-broken. If account profile / order-history UI extension blocks are missing, use shopify-customer-account-ui-extension-missing. If Plus Multipass SSO fails, use shopify-multipass-login-failing. If related products are blank (not the wishlist list), use shopify-product-recommendations-blank. If restock / notify emails never send, use shopify-back-in-stock-not-notifying.
03
Repair account binding, merge guest list on login, and retest multi-device.
In the wishlist app, enable “sync to customer account” / “require login for wishlist” / “merge guest wishlist on login” where the vendor exposes those toggles. Keep App embed on Current. Align classic vs new customer accounts with what the app documents. Remove a second wishlist / save-for-later app that writes a different localStorage key.
Clear stale guest cookies on a control browser, log in, save products, then open the same account on a second browser or phone. If the app has a sync / reindex job, run it and watch for failed API calls in the app logs. If guest lists never merge after login, that is expected for purely localStorage apps — switch to account-bound mode or document the guest limitation honestly for buyers.
Retest: same customer on two devices → same wishlist items → guest save then login merges when enabled. Soft notes: login loops belong on shopify-customer-accounts-login-broken. Missing account UI blocks belong on shopify-customer-account-ui-extension-missing. Multipass belongs on shopify-multipass-login-failing. Related products belong on shopify-product-recommendations-blank. Restock notify belongs on shopify-back-in-stock-not-notifying.

You tested login, UI extension, Multipass, recommendations, or back-in-stock instead.
Customer accounts login broken is shopify-customer-accounts-login-broken. Customer account UI extension missing is shopify-customer-account-ui-extension-missing. Multipass login failing is shopify-multipass-login-failing. Product recommendations blank is shopify-product-recommendations-blank. Back-in-stock not notifying is shopify-back-in-stock-not-notifying. Wishlist button missing is shopify-wishlist-button-missing. Wishlist button not working is wishlist-button-not-working.
The only honest test for this page: same logged-in customer on two devices (or guest → login merge) → wishlist / saved items match (or you prove the app is guest-only localStorage with no account sync). Anything else is a different product.

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.
Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: prove guest vs account storage, enable account sync / merge, remove a fighting second wishlist app, retest the same customer on two devices. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Related pages: wishlist missing, wishlist not working, customer accounts login, customer account UI extension, Multipass, product recommendations, back-in-stock.
Pay for help when the work is not the wishlist list itself — it is connecting the stack you already have so wishlist / account / sync exceptions land in a channel you already check, and the live store is one workflow instead of a spreadsheet plus a Slack bot you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.
What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a theme rebuild retainer, not a conversion guarantee, not a brand or theme job.
Other shops’ public ranges, not testimonials: a checkout / ops install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as an earnings number or conversion-lift claim.
What it does not buy: more orders, recovered revenue, a forever wishlist-sync guarantee, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.
Checkout is on Whop. Operator is Nico. United States offer. You can revoke collaborator access after handoff. We do not take owner passwords.
