Playbook · Shopify Shop channel products not syncing

Shopify Shop channel / Shop app products not syncing or not discoverable.

Written for a Shopify DTC owner whose products never appear, stay stale, or are not discoverable in the Shop channel / Shop app — Shop sales channel not installed or unhealthy, SKUs not published / available to Shop, or Shop Pay / Shopify Payments / product-type eligibility blocking Shop discovery. DIY-first: prove channel settings vs product availability vs Shop Pay eligibility; repair the live Shop catalog path; retest in Shop search / Shop app, not only Admin. Distinct from Shop Pay / dynamic checkout buttons missing on PDP or cart, Combined Listings parent-child not working, and Markets currency / price wrong. No earnings claims, no invented case studies.

01

Shop channel / Shop app products not syncing — not Shop Pay button missing, Combined Listings, Markets currency.

“Shop” shows up in three different problems. This page is only when products do not sync to or stay discoverable in the Shop channel / Shop app catalog. Shop Pay / dynamic checkout buttons missing on your own product page or cart is shopify-shop-pay-button-missing. Combined Listings parent-child broken on the Online Store is shopify-combined-listings-not-working. Markets currency / price wrong for a country is shopify-markets-currency-wrong. The broader Shop Pay eligibility vs declined / discounts / shipping walkthrough stays shop-pay-not-showing.

02

Prove Shop channel install vs product availability vs Shop Pay eligibility on a live catalog.

Open Admin and Shop (or Shop app search) for the same SKU. Capture five proofs before you blame “Shop SEO”:

  1. Sales channels: is Shop installed under Settings → Apps and sales channels? Any channel error, reconnect prompt, or paused sync?
  2. Product availability: on the product’s Sales channels / Publishing panel, is Shop checked (not only Online Store)? Is the product Active (not Draft / Archived)?
  3. Shop Pay / Shopify Payments: for markets where Shop discovery expects Shop Pay, is Payments live and Shop Pay enabled — and is this SKU eligible (not a blocked product type)?
  4. Catalog freshness: did you wait for a Shop catalog refresh after publish, or only hard-refresh Admin?
  5. Wrong surface: are you looking for a wallet button on your own PDP, a Combined Listings parent, or a Markets price — instead of the Shop channel listing?

If you only tested a missing Shop Pay button on your theme, Combined Listings options, or Markets currency, you are on the wrong playbook.

Sales channels: Shop installed, connected, and without a blocking sync error.

Shop is a sales channel. If it was never installed, was uninstalled during a cleanup, or shows a reconnect / permissions / sync error in Admin, products will not appear in Shop search or the Shop app no matter how clean the Online Store PDP is. Open Settings → Apps and sales channels → Shop. Clear any blocking banner, finish onboarding steps Shopify still shows, and confirm the channel is Connected — not paused, not “needs attention” with an unread error.

After reconnecting, re-check a known Active product’s channel list. Some reconnects drop Shop from product availability until you re-publish. Retest discovery in Shop after the channel reports healthy — Admin “Available” is not the same as Shop search showing the SKU.

04

Product availability: published to Shop (not only Online Store) with Active status.

Online Store publish does not automatically mean Shop. On each product (or via bulk editor), open Sales channels / Publishing and confirm Shop is included. Draft, Archived, or “unavailable” products stay out of Shop even when the channel itself is healthy. Variants that are inventory-blocked or market-excluded can also drop from Shop discovery while still looking fine on a staff preview of Online Store.

After toggling Shop on, save, wait for catalog sync, then search the product title / handle in Shop (logged into a Shop account in a supported region). If Admin shows Shop checked but Shop search never finds it, move to eligibility — do not keep republishing Online Store alone.

05

Shop Pay / Shopify Payments eligibility and product-type blockers for Shop discovery.

Shop discovery and checkout paths lean on Shop Pay / Shopify Payments eligibility for many markets. If Payments is incomplete, Shop Pay is off, or the product type is ineligible for Shop (gift cards, some subscriptions / selling plans, restricted categories, or policy-flagged listings), the SKU can stay undiscoverable even when the Shop channel toggle is on. Fix Payments / Shop Pay for the market you care about, then confirm the product type is allowed for Shop — separately from whether your theme shows a Shop Pay button on the Online Store PDP.

Theme “Show dynamic checkout buttons” controls wallets on your own storefront. It does not publish the catalog into Shop. If wallets are missing on PDP/cart but Shop already lists the product, leave this playbook and use shopify-shop-pay-button-missing.

06

You tested Shop Pay button missing, Combined Listings, or Markets currency instead.

Wrong playbook waste is common here:

Stay here only when the Shop channel / Shop app catalog should list Active products and does not (or stays stale after publish).

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.

Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: prove Shop channel health, product availability to Shop, Shop Pay / Payments eligibility, catalog refresh, and stop confusing Shop Pay button missing / Combined Listings / Markets currency with this Shop channel sync path. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Related pages: Shop Pay button missing, Combined Listings, Markets currency, Shop Pay broader.

Pay for help when the work is not flipping one sales-channel checkbox — it is connecting the stack you already have so lead capture is not dying in DMs, checkout and ops exceptions land in a channel you already check, and the live store is one workflow instead of a spreadsheet plus a Slack bot you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.

What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a theme agency retainer, not a conversion guarantee, not a brand or theme job.

Other shops' public ranges, not testimonials: a checkout / ops install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as an earnings number or conversion-lift claim.

What it does not buy: more orders, recovered revenue, a forever Shop-channel-sync guarantee, a custom theme rewrite retainer, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.

Checkout is on Whop. Operator is Nico. United States offer. You can revoke collaborator access after handoff. We do not take owner passwords.
