01
Gift card purchase / delivery — not balance check, not gift wrapping, not store credit.
Several gift-money products can look like “customers cannot buy or receive gift cards.” They do not share a settings panel. This page is only when buying a gift card product fails at checkout, or a paid gift card is never delivered (code / email / recipient). Balance check page / customer lookup failing is shopify-gift-card-balance-check-broken. Gift wrapping / gift message missing at cart or checkout is shopify-gift-wrapping-option-missing. Store credit / account credit not applying at checkout is shopify-store-credit-not-applying. This page is only: gift card product purchase failing or gift card not delivered after checkout.
Six ordinary reasons purchase/delivery fails: the store never published a real Gift card product (or denominations are wrong), Gift card created notifications are off / spam-foldered / mis-templated, fraud analysis or a Flow auto-hold freezes issuance, payment succeeds but digital fulfillment never marks the gift card issued, recipient email is blank or mistyped at checkout, or support is testing balance check / gift wrap / store credit and calling it “purchase broken.” Walk them in that order. You already pay for Shopify.
02
Prove product checkout vs Gift card created notification vs fraud hold vs fulfillment.
On the live storefront, add the Gift card product to cart with a known denomination and complete a test checkout (or a refunded live test). Capture: checkout decline / error string vs paid order with no gift card row in Admin → Gift cards, vs gift card issued but Gift card created email never arrives, vs card disabled / On hold. Note payment status, fraud recommendation, fulfillment status, and the customer / recipient emails on the order.
Honest proof: if the only problem is that customers cannot look up remaining balance on a storefront page, leave for shopify-gift-card-balance-check-broken. If gift wrap / gift message never appears at cart, leave for shopify-gift-wrapping-option-missing. If store credit will not apply at checkout, leave for shopify-store-credit-not-applying. Do not mix those proofs with a failed gift card product purchase or a paid card that never delivered.
03
Gift card product / denomination / template wrong or unpublished.
Shopify gift cards are sold as a product type Gift card (or via a third-party gift-card app). If the product is draft, missing from the sales channel, has zero active denominations, or uses a broken custom template that blocks add-to-cart, customers never reach a clean checkout. Markets currency / price rules that blank gift card amounts can also fail the cart. A regular product titled “Gift Card” without the Gift card product type will not auto-issue native gift cards after payment.
Fix path: Products → confirm a Gift card product is Active on Online Store, denominations match what you advertise, and the theme product template can add to cart. Retest in an incognito window. If Add to cart itself is broken on every PDP, that is a different product — shopify-add-to-cart-button-not-working. Card declined / AVS / 3DS on all payments is shopify-payments-card-declined.
04
Gift card created notification silenced, delayed, or wrong recipient.
After payment, Shopify (or the gift-card app) should create the card and send the Gift card created notification to the buyer or the recipient email collected at checkout. If notifications are disabled, the template is blank, Klaviyo / Shopify Email overlap suppresses delivery, or the recipient field was empty, the order looks “paid” while the customer swears nothing arrived. Spam / Promotions folders hide codes without Admin showing a failure.
Fix path: Settings → Notifications — Gift card created on; preview and send a test. Confirm the order captured recipient email. Check Admin → Gift cards for the issued code even when email is missing — you can resend. Pure notification silence on an already-issued card overlaps gift-card-email-not-sending; use that page when the card exists in Admin and only mail is missing. This page covers purchase failure plus delivery failure when issuance itself is also in doubt.
05
Fraud analysis / Flow / payment hold blocks gift card issuance.
Gift card orders are high-fraud SKUs. Shopify Fraud analysis often marks them medium/high risk. A Flow that auto-holds or cancels high-risk gift cards, a payment capture delay, or a manual review queue that never clears will leave the customer charged (or authorized) without a usable code. Third-party fraud apps can also pause digital fulfillment until review.
Fix path: open the order — read fraud recommendation, payment status, and any Flow / app hold tags. Release or fulfill intentionally after review. Tune Flows so gift card issuance is not auto-canceled on soft signals alone. Chronic false positives that cancel good orders across all SKUs are shopify-fraud-analysis-false-positives. Fulfillment-hold email silence is fulfillment-hold-email-not-sending.
06
Digital fulfillment incomplete — card never issued or never emailed.
Native gift cards should issue when the gift card line is paid and not held. If an order stays unfulfilled, a custom fulfillment service never acknowledges digital lines, or a third-party gift-card app fails its webhook after checkout, Admin may show a paid order with no matching Gift cards row. Physical gift card SKUs that need shipping are a different ops path — do not expect an instant code email for a card that ships in an envelope.
Fix path: confirm product is Gift card (digital) vs a shippable SKU. Fulfill or complete the digital line. In Admin → Gift cards, verify issuance and resend. Check app delivery logs if a third-party issuer owns the code. Unfulfilled order / packing backlog without a gift-card angle is unfulfilled territory — only use this page when the gift card product or delivery is the failure.

You tested balance check, gift wrapping, or store credit instead.
Gift card balance check page / customer lookup broken is shopify-gift-card-balance-check-broken. Gift wrapping / gift message option missing is shopify-gift-wrapping-option-missing. Store credit / account credit not applying is shopify-store-credit-not-applying.
The only honest test for this page: a customer cannot successfully buy a gift card product at checkout, or a paid gift card is never delivered (issued + emailed to buyer/recipient) — fixable with a real Gift card product, Gift card created notifications on, fraud / Flow holds released, and digital fulfillment completing — not a broken balance-check page alone, not a missing gift-wrap checkbox alone, not store credit failing at checkout alone. Capture the order payment + Gift cards Admin row + notification log, fix the path. Anything else is a different product.

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.
Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: prove gift card product checkout vs Gift card created notification vs fraud hold vs fulfillment, publish a real Gift card product, turn notifications on, release holds that block issuance, and stop confusing balance check / gift wrap / store credit with purchase delivery. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Pay for help when the work is not the gift card purchase/delivery row — it is connecting the stack you already have so lead capture is not dying in DMs, storefront and checkout-ready exceptions land in a channel you already check, and the live store is one workflow instead of a spreadsheet plus a Slack bot you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.
What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a gift-card app rebuild, not an earnings number.
Other shops' public ranges, not testimonials: a checkout / ops install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as an earnings number or gift-card-delivery guarantee.
What it does not buy: more orders, recovered gift card liability, a forever issuance uptime guarantee, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.
Checkout is on Whop. Operator is Nico. United States offer. You can revoke collaborator access after handoff. We do not take owner passwords.
