Playbook · Shopify draft order invoice blank
Draft order invoice opens blank.
Written for a Shopify owner whose draft order invoice page or PDF is blank / empty — line items missing on the invoice view while the draft in admin has products, custom invoice template or additional scripts clearing the body, print CSS hiding content so Save as PDF is white, browser PDF viewer blank while on-screen HTML looks fine, Markets / B2B company location invoice branding mismatch, or you chased invoice email not sending, Net-30 payment terms, or order edit not saving instead. DIY-first: prove draft lines → fix template / scripts → retest invoice render. Distinct from draft order invoice not sending (email / link delivery — not blank body), Net-30 payment terms not showing, and order edit not saving. Soft-link wholesale payment terms wrong when B2B terms on the invoice are the real issue, and checkout branding API not applying when branding tokens bleed into invoice chrome. Legacy companion path: draft-order-invoice-not-sending. No earnings claims, no invented case studies.

Invoice blank — not invoice email not sending, Net-30 terms, or order edit.
Several “draft order invoice” bugs look alike. They do not share a fix. This page is only when the invoice page or PDF opens but the body is blank or empty. Invoice email not arriving or an expired payment link is shopify-draft-order-invoice-not-sending. Net-30 / payment terms missing on invoices is shopify-payment-terms-net-not-showing. Admin order edit not saving is shopify-order-edit-not-saving.
Soft links when the bug is adjacent: wholesale / B2B payment terms wrong is shopify-wholesale-payment-terms-wrong. Manual payment capture failing after the customer pays the invoice is shopify-manual-payment-capture-failing. This playbook stays on draft has lines → invoice view / PDF blank → merchant cannot show a readable invoice. It is not customer metafield not saving and not metaobject definition locked.
02
Prove draft lines vs invoice template vs PDF viewer vs Markets/B2B.
Open the draft order in admin. Confirm line items, quantities, prices, taxes, and discounts are present on the draft itself. If the draft is empty, you have an order-build problem — not an invoice-render problem. Soft-check that you are not looking at a different draft / duplicate / cancelled draft.
Open the customer invoice link in a private window (and a second browser). Compare on-screen HTML vs Print / Save as PDF. A blank PDF with a visible HTML body often means print CSS or a PDF viewer extension. A blank HTML body with a populated draft often means a custom invoice template, additional scripts, or an app that rewrote the invoice layout.
Soft-check Markets / B2B: company location catalogs, payment terms, and invoice branding can swap templates. Confirm the customer / company location that receives the invoice matches the market you tested.
03
Repair template, print CSS, and scripts — then retest invoice render.
Restore the default Shopify invoice template if a custom template or app wiped the line-item table. Remove or disable additional scripts that clear the invoice DOM. Disable browser extensions that intercept PDFs and retest Print. Soft-check staff permissions if some users see a blank invoice chrome while owners do not.
Honest retest: draft with known line items → Send invoice → open the customer link → lines and totals visible → Print / Save as PDF not blank. If the email never arrives, switch to shopify-draft-order-invoice-not-sending. If Net-30 terms are missing on an otherwise readable invoice, use shopify-payment-terms-net-not-showing.

You tested invoice not sending, Net-30 terms, or order edit instead.
Invoice email not sending is shopify-draft-order-invoice-not-sending. Net-30 payment terms not showing is shopify-payment-terms-net-not-showing. Wholesale payment terms wrong is shopify-wholesale-payment-terms-wrong. Order edit not saving is shopify-order-edit-not-saving. Manual payment capture failing is shopify-manual-payment-capture-failing.
The only honest test for this page: a draft with line items opens an invoice (or PDF) that shows those lines and totals (or you prove template / script / print CSS why it cannot). Anything else is a different product.

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.
Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: prove the draft has lines, open the invoice in a private window, separate email-not-sending from blank body, restore default template / kill clearing scripts, retest Print PDF. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Related pages: invoice not sending, Net-30 terms, order edit.
Pay for help when the work is not the invoice template itself — it is connecting the stack you already have so draft-order / invoice / B2B exceptions land in a channel you already check, and the live store is one workflow instead of a spreadsheet plus a Slack bot you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.
What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a theme rebuild retainer, not a conversion guarantee, not a brand or theme job.
Other shops’ public ranges, not testimonials: a checkout / ops install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as an earnings number or conversion-lift claim.
What it does not buy: more orders, recovered revenue, a forever invoice-render guarantee, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.
Checkout is on Whop. Operator is Nico. United States offer. You can revoke collaborator access after handoff. We do not take owner passwords.
