Shopify Delivery Customization Function not renaming/hiding/reordering shipping rates — Functions, Plus, app.

Written for a Shopify owner or ops lead whose Delivery Customization Function is installed but checkout still shows every shipping rate, never renames methods, or never reorders them (Functions deploy, Plus / eligible checkout, delivery customization app). DIY-first: prove the Function is Active and selected on an eligible plan; fix the metafields / input query the customization reads; stop fighting a second delivery customization, Scripts, or a carrier-callback / rates-wrong bug. Distinct from carrier service callback timeout, checkout shipping rates wrong, delivery date picker missing, Payment Customization Function not hiding, and local pickup not showing. No earnings claims, no invented case studies.

Delivery Customization Function not renaming/hiding/reordering — not carrier timeout, rates wrong, delivery date, Payment Customization, local pickup.

Several products can look like “checkout shipping looks wrong.” They do not share a settings panel. This page is only when a Shopify Delivery Customization Function should hide a rate, rename a delivery option, or reorder shipping methods — and the live checkout still shows the default set in the default order with default titles. Carrier service / calculated rates that timeout or return empty is carrier service callback timeout. Native Shopify shipping rates missing or wrong without a customization Function is checkout shipping rates wrong. A delivery date / calendar picker missing is delivery date picker missing. Payment gateways that never hide or reorder is Payment Customization Function not hiding. Local pickup option missing is local pickup not showing. This page is only: Shopify Delivery Customization Function not renaming/hiding/reordering shipping rates (Functions, Plus, app).

Six ordinary reasons hide/rename/reorder never fires: the Function is Draft / not deployed Active; the shop is not on Plus / an eligible plan for delivery customizations; the delivery customization app is installed but not the selected customization; metafields / cart attributes / delivery option handles the input query expects are missing; checkout.liquid Scripts are still fighting checkout extensibility; or you are debugging carrier timeout / rates wrong / delivery date / Payment Customization / local pickup instead of delivery customization output. Walk them in that order. You already pay for Shopify + the app. You do not need another “shipping SaaS” to prove a Function that never runs.

02

Prove Delivery Customization Function is Active on Plus / eligible checkout.

In the Partner / custom app → Extensions, confirm the delivery customization Function is deployed Active (not only preview). Confirm the shop plan supports delivery customizations (Shopify Plus / eligible checkout extensibility). In Admin → Settings → Shipping and delivery (and Checkout / Apps), confirm the delivery customization app is installed and selected. Screenshot Active status, plan eligibility, and which app owns the customization.

Reproduce on the live checkout (not only theme preview): build a cart that should hide Express, reorder Economy before Standard, or rename a rate title per your config. Capture the shipping option list on the shipping step. If carrier callbacks time out or return empty rates, leave this page and use carrier service callback timeout. If native rates are missing/wrong with no customization Function in play, open checkout shipping rates wrong.

03

Fix metafields, input query, Plus eligibility, and conflicting shipping apps.

Confirm the cart / customer / market / delivery option metafields and attributes your Function’s input query reads — missing namespace or wrong delivery option handles means hide/rename/reorder silently skips. Redeploy after fixing the GraphQL input query. Require checkout extensibility and an eligible plan; do not expect Script Editor shipping Scripts to replace deliveryCustomization after Plus / extensibility upgrades.

Disable a second delivery customization, an old shipping-rules app that also rewrites rates, or leftover Scripts that fight hide/rename/reorder. Retest guest and logged-in checkouts, Markets countries, and draft vs live themes. If a delivery date picker never renders while rate titles are already correct, that is delivery date picker missing, not this Delivery Customization playbook. If payment gateways never hide while shipping rates look fine, use Payment Customization Function not hiding. If only local pickup is missing, use local pickup not showing.

04

Checklist and how to prove hide / rename / reorder on live checkout.

Checklist: (1) screenshot Delivery Customization Function Active + selected app, (2) confirm Plus / eligible plan for delivery customizations, (3) confirm metafields / attributes / delivery option handles the input query needs, (4) redeploy Function after input-query fix, (5) remove conflicting second customization / Scripts / shipping-rules app, (6) confirm checkout extensibility (not checkout.liquid-only), (7) capture before/after shipping option list on live checkout, (8) if only carrier timeout, native rates wrong, delivery date picker, Payment Customization, or local pickup is wrong, switch playbooks.

Prove it: build the configured cart on the live storefront; checkout shipping step hides / renames / reorders as configured; a second Markets locale still customizes; guest and logged-in both match. If rates are correct but a delivery date picker never loads, open delivery date picker missing.

05

You tested carrier timeout, rates wrong, delivery date, Payment Customization, or local pickup instead.

Carrier service / calculated rates timeout or empty is carrier service callback timeout. Native checkout shipping rates missing or wrong is checkout shipping rates wrong. Delivery date / calendar picker missing is delivery date picker missing. Payment Customization Function not hiding/reordering gateways is Payment Customization Function not hiding. Local pickup option missing is local pickup not showing. None of those finish a Delivery Customization Function that never hides, renames, or reorders shipping rates on live checkout.

Finish prove Active + Plus eligibility → fix metafields / input query / conflicts → live hide/rename/reorder proof first. Only then open the related playbook that matches the remaining symptom.

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.

Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: prove Delivery Customization Active on an eligible plan, fix metafields / input query, remove conflicting customizations / Scripts, and stop treating carrier timeout / rates wrong / delivery date / Payment Customization / local pickup as the same bug. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Pay for help when the work is not the deliveryCustomization JSON — it is connecting the stack you already have so lead capture is not dying in DMs, cart / ops exceptions land in a channel you already check, and the live store is one workflow instead of a spreadsheet plus a Slack bot you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.

What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a Functions-agency retainer, not a conversion guarantee, not a brand or theme job.

Other shops’ public ranges, not testimonials: a checkout / ops install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as an earnings number or uptime claim.

What it does not buy: more orders, automatic Delivery Customization quotas, a Plus license, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.

Checkout is on Whop. Operator is Nico. United States offer. You can revoke collaborator access after handoff. We do not take owner passwords.
