Playbook · Shopify post-purchase review request & product review email
Shopify review request email not sending — after the order fulfilled and Judge.me / Loox / Okendo / Klaviyo / Flow should have asked for a product review and they never got the mail.
Written for a Shopify owner whose fulfilled orders should trigger a Judge.me, Loox, or Okendo review request (or a Klaviyo Review Request / Post Purchase Review flow, or Shopify Flow after fulfillment), and nobody gets the email — so product pages stay thin, support fills with “how do I leave a review?,” and “why didn’t you ask me?” tickets that never started with a review send. This is a review-app / Klaviyo / Flow post-purchase path playbook — not winback, not failed payment, not subscription renewal, not abandoned checkout, not WISMO, and not gift card. DIY tools first. Honest limits. No ticket-cut number, no review-lift claim, no invented case studies.

01
Review request / product review mail, not winback, failed payment, subscription renewal, abandoned checkout, WISMO, or gift card.
A review request or product review email is not a lapsed-customer ping and not a decline recovery. Winback / We Miss You is winback email not sending. Failed payment / card declined / dunning is failed payment email not sending. Subscription renewal / upcoming charge is subscription renewal email not sending. Abandoned checkout is abandoned checkout email not sending. Where-is-my-order / shipping confirmation loops are WISMO / shipping paths — not review mail. Gift card issue is gift card email not sending. This page is the customer-facing path when an order has been fulfilled (or delivered) and Judge.me / Loox / Okendo — or a Klaviyo Review Request / Post Purchase Review flow, or Shopify Flow after fulfillment — should ask for a product review.
Six ordinary reasons review request mail never lands: no fulfilled order / delay elapsed, review app or Klaviyo / Flow Draft or paused, two owners fighting over the same event, sender/spam hid a send that did fire, you tested a different email product, or you never built a review-request path. Walk them in that order. You already pay for Judge.me / Loox / Okendo and/or Klaviyo / Shopify Flow. You do not need a second SaaS to read their send history.
02
No fulfilled order, delivery event, or review-delay elapsed.
Open Shopify admin → Orders (or the review app’s order / send log) and/or Klaviyo → Profiles. You need an order that actually crossed your review trigger — Fulfilled, Delivered, or “X days after fulfillment / delivery” — not a Paid but unfulfilled order, not a gateway decline, not an unpaid cart, not a lapsed segment match, not a gift-card issue, and not a WISMO ticket. A decline is failed-payment mail. An unpaid cart is abandoned checkout. Days since last order with no purchase is winback.
Common traps: delay set to 14–30 days while you expect same-week asks; timezone so the wait has not elapsed; only Fulfilled when you ship partials and never mark fully fulfilled; exclude discounted / wholesale / gift orders so every test is skipped; profile suppressed / unsubscribed / bounced so they never enter; and testing on yourself before fulfillment. Wrong event, wrong silence.
Prove it on a test you own: fulfill a test order to an inbox you control (or force the review app / Klaviyo delay), then read Judge.me / Loox / Okendo send logs and Klaviyo flow analytics / Shopify Flow run history. No fulfillment / no delay elapsed means fix the trigger definition first — not the star rating widget.
03
Judge.me / Loox / Okendo paused, or Klaviyo / Flow review path Draft.
Open Judge.me / Loox / Okendo → Settings → Review request / Request emails. Automated requests must be On / Enabled, not paused, and the delay must match what you expect. Open Klaviyo → Flows. Find Review Request, Post Purchase Review, Product Review, or any flow triggered by Fulfilled Order / Placed Order + wait. Status must be Live, not Draft or Manual. Filters that skip anyone who already reviewed, exclude recent purchasers with a too-short window, or require a tag you never set, silently skip every profile. Open Shopify admin → Flow. Find any “review request,” “ask for review,” or post-fulfillment Send email workflow. Status must be Active, not Draft.
One-off Shopify Email or Klaviyo campaigns titled “leave a review” are not the automated post-purchase path. Building a campaign does not fire when an order fulfills. Mixing campaign email with review-app / Klaviyo / Flow automation is how you pay for three products and still send none when someone should be asked. If Klaviyo flows never send on any trigger, that is the broader Klaviyo flow not sending playbook. If Shopify Flow never runs, see Shopify Flow not running. This page assumes fulfilled orders exist and asks why the review-request path stays quiet.
04
Two owners for the same review email — review app + Klaviyo + Flow fighting.
Pick one owner for post-purchase review requests. If Judge.me / Loox / Okendo owns it, turn duplicate Klaviyo Review Request flows and Shopify Flow Send email that hit the same fulfillment event off. If Klaviyo owns a multi-step review series and the review app only collects on-site widgets, document that split so nobody “cleans up” the wrong toggle. Running both is how the customer gets two asks, contradictory incentives, or silence after someone disabled the live owner.
The winback playbook at /winback-email-not-sending is about lapsed buyers weeks later. This page assumes a recent fulfilled order should have asked for a product review and asks why that mail is quiet. Fix ownership first, then templates.
05
Sender / spam / promotions hid a send that did fire.
Judge.me / Loox / Okendo send logs or Klaviyo / Flow history can show review request sent while the customer swears silence. Check the From domain / SPF / DKIM the review app or Klaviyo / Shopify uses, Gmail Promotions vs Primary, and whether the subject looks like pure marketing so filters bury a review ask. Force one test review request to an inbox you control. Search spam for the exact subject the path uses.
If the log says sent and the inbox is empty after spam checks, fix deliverability — do not buy another review app to paper over a domain that already fails DMARC on order confirmation.
06
You tested winback, failed payment, subscription renewal, abandoned checkout, WISMO, or gift card.
A lapsed-customer / We Miss You ping is winback. A decline / dunning recovery is failed payment. An upcoming-charge / renewal reminder is subscription renewal. Leaving a retail cart unpaid is abandoned checkout. Shipping confirmation / where-is-my-order silence is a different product from review ask. Issuing a gift card is gift card.
The only honest test for this page: a real or test order fulfilled (and delay elapsed if configured) to an inbox you own, one owner’s review path Live (Judge.me / Loox / Okendo and/or Klaviyo / Flow), then send log / flow activity + inbox. Anything else is a different product.

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.
Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: fulfilled order + delay exists, one owner’s review path Live, sender/spam checked. Force one live test email to an inbox you own. Read the send log. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Related troubleshooting: winback not sending, failed payment not sending, subscription renewal not sending, abandoned checkout not sending, gift card not sending, Klaviyo flow not sending.
Pay for help when the work is not the review-app toggle — it is connecting the stack you already have so every fulfilled order that should ask for a review is emailed, lead capture is not dying in DMs, and checkout-ready ops paths are one live workflow instead of a paused Judge.me schedule plus a Draft Klaviyo review flow you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.
What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a Klaviyo rebuild, not a Gorgias implementation, not a support VA, not a brand or theme job.
Other shops’ public ranges, not testimonials: a Shopify Flow / Klaviyo / review-app path install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops / post-purchase email consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as a ticket-cut number or review-volume lift.
What it does not buy: more five-star reviews, a lift in review response rate, fewer “how do I review?” tickets, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.
