Playbook · Shopify social share buttons broken
FB / X / Pinterest share buttons broken on PDP.
Written for a Shopify owner whose social share buttons are broken — Facebook, X/Twitter, Pinterest, WhatsApp, or email share on the PDP does nothing, opens blank, or posts the wrong URL — or you chased og:image or Instagram feed instead. DIY-first: prove theme share block / app embed / JS popup / share URL / Markets → enable → retest. Distinct from open graph image missing and Instagram feed blank. Soft-link press logos not loading when as-seen-in logos are the leftover gap. Soft-link UGC gallery blank when customer photo UGC is missing. No earnings claims, no invented case studies.

Social share buttons broken — not og:image, not IG feed.
Several “social” bugs look alike. They do not share a fix. This page is only when Facebook / X / Pinterest / WhatsApp (or email) share buttons on the PDP are broken. Open Graph / og:image wrong on the social preview card is still shopify-open-graph-image-missing. Instagram feed / theme IG gallery empty is shopify-instagram-feed-blank.
Soft-check shopify-press-logos-not-loading when as-seen-in logos are the leftover gap, and soft-link shopify-ugc-gallery-blank when customer photo UGC is missing — not when PDP share buttons are the gap.
02
Prove theme share block vs app vs JS / popup vs share URL vs Markets.
On Current theme (not a draft), open a live PDP (incognito). Soft-check the share block is present in the DOM (not only display:none). Soft-check theme product section share settings (enable share, networks). Soft-check share / social App embeds. Soft-check click opens the network sharer with the product URL (not / or blank). Soft-check popup blockers / third-party cookie / in-app browsers. Soft-check Markets / localization. Soft-check you did not test og:image preview or Instagram feed blank instead.
Capture: product handle, screenshot of broken share click vs Network/sharer URL, theme share settings, App embeds toggle, and mobile/desktop on Current.
03
Enable share block, fix share URL / app / JS fights; retest.
On Current, enable the theme social share block on the product template. Soft-check share URL uses the canonical product URL. Soft-check App embeds for share apps after save. Soft-check JS not preventing default or swallowing click. Soft-check mobile/desktop and Markets. Publish Current, hard-refresh desktop and phone.
Honest retest: share buttons open the correct network with the product link — not only Network 200 without UI. Soft-link shopify-open-graph-image-missing when the preview image is wrong. Soft-link shopify-instagram-feed-blank when IG gallery is missing. Soft-link shopify-press-logos-not-loading when as-seen-in logos are missing.
04
You tested og:image or Instagram feed instead.
Open Graph / og:image wrong on the social preview card is still shopify-open-graph-image-missing. Instagram feed / theme IG gallery empty is shopify-instagram-feed-blank. As-seen-in / press logo bar blank is shopify-press-logos-not-loading. Customer photo UGC gallery empty is shopify-ugc-gallery-blank.
The only honest test for this page: Facebook / X / Pinterest / WhatsApp share buttons on the PDP open the correct network with the product URL — while og:image and Instagram feed paths may still work.

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.
Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: prove theme share block vs app vs JS / popup vs share URL vs Markets, soft-check apps, enable and retest. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Related pages: open graph image missing, Instagram feed blank, press logos not loading.
Pay for help when the work is not the social-share-buttons-broken wiring itself — it is connecting the stack you already have so storefront / social-share-buttons-broken exception alerts land in a channel you already check, and the live store is one workflow instead of a spreadsheet plus a Slack bot you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.
What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a theme rebuild retainer, not a conversion guarantee, not a brand or theme job.
Other shops' public ranges, not testimonials: a checkout / ops install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as an earnings number or conversion-lift claim.
What it does not buy: more orders, recovered revenue, a forever social-share-buttons-broken guarantee, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.
Checkout is on Whop. Operator is Nico. United States offer. You can revoke collaborator access after handoff. We do not take owner passwords.
