Product publish / sales channel status not syncing — not Shop channel discoverability-only, collection rules, Combined Listings, or webhooks.
Several catalog workflows look like “the product is not live.” They do not share one publish engine. This page is only when Products → Sales channels / Publishing leaves Online Store, Shop, or a custom channel unpublished (or reverts) after you publish — so the Online Store PDP 404s / password-hides, or the channel feed still excludes the SKU. When the product is already published to Shop but Shop app discoverability fails, that is Shop channel products not syncing. Automated / smart collection membership is collection rules not matching. Combined Listings parent/child storefront issues are Combined Listings not working. App/admin webhook delivery failures are webhooks not delivering. Six ordinary reasons publish status fails to sync: product still Draft / Archived while you expected Active; Online Store / Shop / custom channel checkbox never saved or cleared on next sync; Admin UI shows published but publication record stale (need publishablePublish / re-save); Markets / catalog availability hides the product for the channel locale; ERP / PIM / bulk / listing app unpublishes on inventory or feed sync; or you are debugging Shop channel discoverability-only, collection rules, Combined Listings, or webhooks instead of sales-channel publications. Walk them in that order. You already pay for Shopify. You do not need another “channel sync SaaS” to prove a Sales channels checkbox equals a live PDP.

Prove Admin publish state vs each sales channel and capture API/app overrides.
Open Products → the product → Sales channels / Publishing. Screenshot Status (Active / Draft / Archived) and every channel checkbox: Online Store, Shop, Point of Sale, Headless / Hydrogen, and any custom app publications. Note scheduled publish times if used. If an ERP, PIM, CSV importer, or listing app writes products, keep the last productSet / publishablePublish / REST product publications payload and the app’s “sync unpublished” setting.
Reproduce on the live admin + storefront (not a stale tab): set a test product Active, check Online Store, Save, open the product URL logged-out — it must resolve (not 404 / password storefront hide). Uncheck Online Store, Save, confirm it becomes unavailable. If Online Store is published but only Shop app discovery fails, leave this page and use Shop channel products not syncing. If the product is published but missing from an automated collection, open collection rules not matching.

Fix Draft status, unchecked channels, stale publications, Markets hide, and apps overwriting publish.
Set Status → Active first — Draft / Archived never fully publish to storefront channels the way you expect. Explicitly check Online Store, Shop, and each custom channel you need, then Save. If Admin still desyncs from the channel catalog, re-publish via Admin API publishablePublish (or the channel’s Manage sales channels UI) for the correct publication ID. Confirm Markets / included countries / catalogs do not hide the SKU for the channel locale you are testing.
Pause or reconfigure ERP / PIM / bulk / marketplace listing apps that unpublish on inventory zero, “draft on sync,” or wipe publications on import. After Save, wait for publication refresh — or toggle a harmless channel Save — then hard-refresh the Online Store PDP and the channel’s product list. If the real symptom is Combined Listings parent/child options on an already published PDP, that is Combined Listings not working, not this publish-status playbook. If apps never receive products/update webhooks, use webhooks not delivering.

Checklist and how to prove Online Store / Shop / custom channel show published.
Checklist: (1) screenshot Status + Sales channels checkboxes, (2) confirm Active not Draft/Archived, (3) check Online Store / Shop / custom channel and Save, (4) re-run publishablePublish if UI desyncs, (5) fix Markets / catalog hide, (6) stop apps that unpublish on sync, (7) open live Online Store PDP logged-out and confirm channel listing includes the SKU, (8) if only Shop discoverability / collection rules / Combined Listings / webhooks remain wrong, switch playbooks.
Prove it: on a live test product, set Active, publish to Online Store, Save, open the product URL in a private window and confirm 200 + Add to cart. Unpublish Online Store, Save, confirm unavailable. Re-publish Shop / custom channel and confirm the channel admin/catalog lists the product. If storefront is live but Shop app still will not discover it, open Shop channel products not syncing.
