Playbook · Flow agency vs ops install
A Shopify Flow agency builds workflows. Latch is a 72-hour ops install. They are not the same buy.
Written for a Shopify operator comparing a Flow agency quote — triggers, conditions, Slack pings, tags, unfulfilled alerts — against a one-time ops install. Native tools first. Honest limits. Stay DIY if you want Flow built. Pay $997 when the gap is wiring. No recovered-revenue promise, no ticket-cut number, no invented case studies. Distinct from the Flow not running DIY debug playbook and from Gorgias vs ops install (helpdesk vs wiring).

01
What a Shopify Flow agency engagement actually is.
“Hire someone for Shopify Flow” almost always means workflow work. Someone opens Flow on your store. Builds triggers for Order paid, Fulfillment created, or Customer tagged. Adds conditions so holds and digital SKUs skip. Sends Slack or internal email. Sometimes tags high-risk orders or auto-adds a free gift. Delivers a handful of live workflows and a handoff doc.
That is a real product. Lives inside Shopify Flow (Plus / qualifying plans). It makes admin events fire actions you designed. It does not install lead capture on the storefront. It does not own abandoned checkout in Klaviyo. It does not replace a silent shipping confirmation. It is a better graph of automations you already have access to.
Public ranges other shops publish (not testimonials): Shopify Flow / app automation installs commonly run $500–$2,500 for a scoped set of workflows. Those numbers are comps, not a Latch price list.
02
What Latch actually is.
Latch AI Ops is not a Flow agency retainer, not a Shopify Plus partner seat, and not an App Store listing. It is a Shopify AI Ops Install: $997 USD one-time, 72 hours after collaborator access, on one live store. Three systems: lead capture on the store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. Wired on the stack you already pay for — Shopify notifications, Flow if you have it, Klaviyo if you have it — not a catalog of custom Flow graphs as the product.
Clock starts when collaborator access is in, not at payment. Store URL collected at checkout. Access plus a delivery thread. Operator is Nico. United States offer. Not a SaaS seat, not a Flow agency SOW, not a Gorgias implementation, not a Klaviyo rebuild, not a support VA, not a brand or theme job.
If what you want is a scoped set of Flow workflows and a handoff doc, this is the wrong page to buy from. Stay DIY and build the first Flow — or hire a Flow / automation shop for that job.

Flow build vs wiring, honestly.
Same merchant pain (“we need automations so we stop babysitting admin”). Two different products.
A Shopify Flow agency engagement:
- Lives in Flow. Triggers, conditions, actions, Slack / email, tags, sometimes inventory or risk rules.
- Makes admin events fire the actions you specified. Does not stop a silent shipping email or a missing 3PL writeback from creating the customer ticket.
- Typically a one-time scoped fee. Public comps often land $500–$2,500 depending on how many workflows and connectors.
- Does not capture leads from DMs onto the store, or leave a checkout-ready marketing workflow live as the core deliverable.
The Latch 72-hour ops install:
- Lives in ops. Lead capture, alerts, checkout-ready workflow on tools you already pay for.
- Tries to make the exception show up before the customer is the monitoring system. It does not promise revenue recovered or tickets erased.
- $997 USD one-time. 72 hours after collaborator access. You can revoke access after handoff.
- May use Flow where it fits. It is not sold as “N Flow workflows delivered.” Use a Flow agency when that scoped build is the job.
- Does not replace Flow, Klaviyo, Gorgias, or 3PL apps. Connects what is already there.
If Flow is inactive, the trigger never matched, or a wait step has not elapsed, that is a debug job — walk it on /shopify-flow-not-running. Hiring an agency to rebuild a graph that never activated is still the wrong first move.
04
Stay DIY if you want Flow built.
If the job in your head is “when an order is paid and still unfulfilled after N hours, ping Slack,” do that yourself this week. Open Shopify Flow. Trigger: Order paid. Wait that matches your SLA. Condition: fulfillment status still unfulfilled (skip holds, preorders, digital). Action: Send internal email or Slack. Activate. Run one real paid test. That is free-to-start Flow work on plans that include Flow. No agency required for a first pass.
If volume justifies a partner, hire a Shopify Flow / automation shop for a scoped set of workflows. That is a legitimate buy. It is still a different buy from wiring lead capture and ops alerts across the stack you already pay for.
Keep one owner per event. Do not add a second Flow “for WISMO” while native shipping confirmation is off. The DIY unfulfilled and Flow-debug versions are /unfulfilled-order-alert and /shopify-flow-not-running.
05
When the Flow agency is the wrong buy.
A Flow graph cannot fix a wiring gap. You will still pay for workflows that paper over the same loop if:
- Shipping confirmation still says “we’ll send tracking soon,” or the native email is off.
- Fulfillment lives in a 3PL that does not write tracking back to the Shopify order.
- Abandoned checkout is a Klaviyo draft plus a native toggle you forgot.
- Leads die in Instagram DMs because nothing captures them on the store.
- The Flow you already have is inactive, never matched a real event, or is waiting on a step — that is debug, not a rebuild SOW.
Those are ops jobs. That is when $997 is the honest buy: connect the stack, stand up alerts in a channel you already check, leave a checkout-ready workflow live at hour 72. Not a cheaper Flow agency. Not an earnings guarantee.
07
What not to do.
- Do not hire a Flow agency to fix a shipping email that never fires. The graph will still fire on blank orders.
- Do not stack a Flow Slack ping, a Klaviyo “on the way” email, and a Gorgias WISMO macro as three tracking stories. Pick a source of truth.
- Do not treat Latch as a cheaper Flow agency. It is not sold as N custom workflows. It will not replace a scoped Flow SOW.
- Do not buy a rebuild before you check Active, run history, and whether the trigger matched a real paid order.
- Do not claim recovered revenue or fewer tickets because you installed either product. This page will not either.

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.
Stay DIY if you want Flow built. One Order paid → wait → unfulfilled check → Slack this week. That is the Flow job. No agency required for a first pass. Hire a Flow / automation shop when that scoped rebuild is what you actually need.
Pay for help when the gap is wiring — lead capture not dying in DMs, ops alerts in a channel you already check, a checkout-ready workflow instead of a draft in Klaviyo plus a native toggle you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.
What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not a Flow agency SOW, not a Gorgias implementation, not a Klaviyo rebuild, not a support VA, not a brand or theme job.
Other shops’ public ranges, not testimonials: a Shopify Flow or app automation install typically runs $500–$2,500. A Klaviyo-only flow rebuild typically runs $2,000–$5,000. Dedicated Gorgias implementation shops commonly start around $3,750. A support VA is $500–$800 a month. $997 is a one-time 72-hour install of three systems on the stack you already pay for — not a monthly seat, not a recovered-revenue number, not a ticket-volume cut.
What it does not buy: a catalog of custom Flow workflows as the deliverable, recovered checkout revenue, a lift in conversion, fewer tickets as a guarantee, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.
Checkout is on Whop. Operator is Nico. United States offer. You can revoke collaborator access after handoff. We do not take owner passwords.
