Shopify FAQ rich results / FAQPage schema not showing in Google.

Written for a Shopify DTC owner whose FAQ rich results or FAQPage schema is not showing in Google — no FAQ dropdown under the blue link, Search Console Enhancement reports empty or invalid, Rich Results Test fails — while the page has a visible FAQ accordion or FAQ section. DIY-first: prove view-source FAQPage JSON-LD, repair theme FAQ blocks / SEO-app markup, match visible Q&A to schema, recheck Search Console. Distinct from Product structured data / JSON-LD missing, meta title / description missing, Open Graph / og:image missing, and sitemap.xml missing products. No earnings claims, no invented case studies.

01

FAQPage / FAQ rich results not showing — not Product JSON-LD, meta title, Open Graph, sitemap.

Several products can look like “Google is not showing my FAQ.” They do not share a settings panel. This page is only when FAQPage schema / FAQ rich results are not showing in Google. Missing or invalid Product JSON-LD is shopify-structured-data-missing. Blank or duplicated search engine title / description is shopify-meta-title-description-missing. Missing or wrong social share image is shopify-open-graph-image-missing. Sitemap.xml missing products is shopify-sitemap-xml-missing-products. This page is only: FAQ rich results / FAQPage markup for a page that answers common questions.

Six ordinary reasons FAQ rich results fail: theme FAQ accordion with no JSON-LD, SEO app emitting empty or invalid FAQPage, Question / acceptedAnswer fields incomplete, visible text that does not match schema, JavaScript-only FAQ content crawlers never see, or Google eligibility / indexing lag after a correct fix. Walk them in that order. You already pay for Shopify and Search Console. You do not need another SEO seat to view-source FAQPage.

02

Prove view-source FAQPage JSON-LD vs Rich Results Test / Search Console.

Open the public page that should earn FAQ rich results (homepage FAQ, product FAQ block, or dedicated FAQ page). View-source and collect every script type="application/ld+json" block. Look for "@type": "FAQPage" (standalone or inside @graph). Note whether mainEntity lists Question items with acceptedAnswer / Answer text.

Paste the same public URL into Google Rich Results Test. Check Search Console → Enhancements / Rich result status for FAQ (or the current equivalent report). Honest proof: if Product rich results fail while FAQPage validates, leave for shopify-structured-data-missing. If SERP title/description is wrong but FAQ schema is fine, leave for shopify-meta-title-description-missing. If social cards are blank while FAQPage is valid, leave for shopify-open-graph-image-missing. Do not mix those proofs with missing FAQPage markup.

03

Theme FAQ accordion / section without FAQPage JSON-LD.

Many Online Store 2.0 themes ship an FAQ accordion, collapsible rows, or “common questions” section that only renders HTML — no FAQPage JSON-LD in the head or section. Shoppers see answers; Google never sees structured FAQ entities. App blocks that inject FAQ UI without schema behave the same way.

Fix: Add a single valid FAQPage JSON-LD that lists each visible question and answer. Prefer theme Liquid or a dedicated FAQ section that emits schema from the same metafields / section settings that render the accordion. Avoid inventing Q&A that is not on the page. After save/publish, view-source again and re-run Rich Results Test. If Product Offer schema is also missing on product templates, that companion issue is shopify-structured-data-missing — different product; fix Product there, FAQPage here.

04

SEO app duplicate, empty, or invalid FAQPage / Question markup.

SEO apps and leftover custom Liquid often inject a second FAQPage — empty mainEntity, Question without acceptedAnswer, Answer without text, wrong @type, or two conflicting FAQPage graphs. Rich Results Test fails even when the visible accordion looks fine.

Fix: Prefer one source of truth. Keep one FAQPage block that mirrors the on-page FAQ. Disable SEO-app FAQ schema that fights the theme, or point the app at the same Q&A source and turn off duplicate theme emission. Validate that each Question has name + acceptedAnswer.text. Recheck view-source after each change. If the same app also broke Product JSON-LD, meta titles, or Open Graph, those are separate playbooks (Product schema, meta title, Open Graph).

05

Visible FAQ text vs schema mismatch, JS-only accordion, or eligibility.

Google expects FAQ markup to match content users can see. Schema that invents answers, answers loaded only after a click via client-only JS with empty HTML, or FAQPage on pages that are not primarily FAQ content can validate in a lab tool and still never show rich results. Indexing lag and eligibility changes also mean a green Rich Results Test is not a SERP guarantee.

Fix: Render FAQ text in the HTML (accordion can still collapse with CSS). Keep Question / Answer strings aligned with visible copy. Request indexing for the URL in Search Console after a valid fix. Do not treat rich-result appearance as a ranking or revenue promise — Latch does not sell that. If robots / noindex or a password page blocks the HTML URL so crawlers never see schema, clear that on shopify-robots-txt-blocking-indexing / password-page-stuck-online after FAQPage is correct — different products. If the URL is absent from sitemap while schema is fine, that companion crawl issue is shopify-sitemap-xml-missing-products.

06

You tested Product structured data, meta title, Open Graph, or sitemap instead.

Product structured data / JSON-LD missing or invalid is shopify-structured-data-missing. Meta title / description missing or duplicated is shopify-meta-title-description-missing. Open Graph / og:image missing or wrong is shopify-open-graph-image-missing. Sitemap.xml missing products or not updating in GSC is shopify-sitemap-xml-missing-products.

The only honest test for this page: view-source shows missing or invalid FAQPage JSON-LD, or Rich Results Test / Search Console shows FAQ errors / no FAQ enhancement for a public URL that has a visible FAQ — theme blocks without schema, SEO-app overrides, visible text mismatch / JS-only content / eligibility. Capture view-source + Rich Results Test, repair those causes, request indexing. Anything else is a different product.

When to stay DIY vs pay $997.

Stay DIY if you can spend one afternoon on the list above: prove view-source FAQPage vs Rich Results Test / Search Console, add or repair theme FAQ JSON-LD, remove SEO-app duplicates, match visible Q&A to schema, and stop confusing Product structured data / meta title / Open Graph / sitemap with missing FAQ rich results. That is the whole playbook. No agency required. Short answers also live on the merchant FAQ. Pay for help when the work is not the FAQPage row — it is connecting the stack you already have so lead capture is not dying in DMs, storefront and checkout-ready exceptions land in a channel you already check, and the live store is one workflow instead of a spreadsheet plus a Slack bot you forgot. That is the Latch AI Ops install.

What $997 USD one-time buys: lead capture on the live store, ops alerts in a channel you already check, and a checkout-ready workflow. 72 hours after collaborator access, not after payment. One live Shopify store. Access plus a delivery thread. Store URL collected at checkout. Not a SaaS seat, not an SEO agency retainer, not a rankings or rich-results guarantee, not a theme rebuild.

Other shops' public ranges, not testimonials: a checkout / ops install typically runs $500–$2,500. A full ops consulting block typically runs $2,000–$5,000. $997 is the cheap end of that work, sold as a 72-hour install of three systems — not as an earnings number or ranking-lift claim.

What it does not buy: more orders, recovered revenue, a forever SERP / rankings / FAQ-rich-result guarantee, or a case study. Latch AI Ops has not published customer proof because there are no customers yet. You are buying the install.
